AFC Fylde vs Witton Albion

Cracking result well done all, interesting team selection ! sounds like 4 1 4 1 again ? upto 6th and in the mix for playoffs UTA

Had to miss game last night due to work committments but what a result! I suppose prior to the Ashton game we would have settled for a point and an away point at Flyde. As it happened we got 3! I can visualise a Blue Square!!! SBL

Great battling performance and one of the best goals you’ll see at any level of football from Rory Fallon.

From 1 to 11 all mom performances. Great team spirit and because of how well we played Fylde were limited to long ball and pumping the ball into the middle, Wimbledonesque.

Great Witton support circa 50 in a bizarrely sparse crowd of 261.

Think the Fylde no.2 may take a different view now of ‘the pub team from Northwich!’

Fylde will be up there at the end of the season, resources alone will take care of that but I know who I’d rather be watching!

An absolutely fantastic result for the Albion last night, just gutted I wasn’t there. Our inconsistency is infuriating at times but we’re a match for anyone on our day. Get in!

Hiya lads, fylde fan here. Just want to say well done last night. You fully deserved the win, you played some excellent football at times and every time we’ve played you both this season and last its been a tough game. We don’t normally play that long ball rubbish you saw in the first half. Were normally a very good footballing side as we shown in the second half.

Anyway good luck for the season and I’m sure both teams will be up there at the end.

Oh and credit to your vocal support last night, ours was non existent

cheers fylde fan. got to admit we were made up with lat nites result. squeaky bum time 4 the last 15 minutes or so! yeah youll be up there, hopefullt behind us tho

Very good of Fyldefan to come on here. I guess it shows how good our management team is. Our budget is probably a quarter of theirs yet here we have one of their fans openly admitting we played excellent football and deserved to win. I think the Barnes lad who plays wide for them is rumoured to be on nearly what our total budget is. Just shows how far we’ve come under this management team long may it continue.
If you look at this league many of the teams get beaten at home then go away and win relatively easily. I’ve noticed as with Ashton on saturday that teams come and pack the defence then play on the break. We tend to get frustrated and go gung ho at it when we’ve not scored early and then we pay the price. Think we need to play more patiently at home drawing out the opposition then hit them hard with our pace. We have some great players but some have to learn the harsh lesson that sometimes you have to defend strongly and play the patience game. Having said that though I would n’t swap any of our lads as the squad of players we have are a fantastic bunch of lads with the best of attitudes. A performance like we had at Fylde is what we need at home as we defended brilliantly from the forward players right through to the back.
Onward and upward with more displays like that at Fylde see no reason why we can’t be up their with the leading pack come the New Year.

5 across the middle ,a defender at right back ,no wonder harder to break down ! going for it is great but get caught out more against these better clubs when we do so .Still learning just a shame some of the younger squad are leaving .Otherwise ,what a start to the season !
