Albion v. FCUM

Interesting statistic with 5mins to go:-

Number of attempts on target at goal

WITTON ALBION 14 FCUM 2

Sorry Left Pegger should have made it clear I was referring to home games, the result at Curzon was obviously a great one but you have to admit on many, many occasions in the past we have built up the crowd only for the team to fail to perform, but not this team, so once again, full marks to Pritch and the lads.

Have to agree with Left Pegger, not an accusation you could level at this present group of players.

I would also include;
Spennymoore at home
Barrow at home (despite the result)
Farsley at home in the Play Off Semi
Also Alty away
Possibly even go as far back to some of these players who were part of the squad in the Chester game, 2 nil down to pull it back to 2 - 2 late on (ok, heartbreak at the end…but great character)

I get WHS’s point and agree it does not apply to this team, its full of character and fight and possibly more important very together as a team and squad who work for one another till the end, I think this reflects very well on the qualities of our mgt team and the whole ethos of the club - you cannot buy that !!! you have to work hard, build and earn it - are you listening Northwich Vics.

Thank you C. J. That was exactly my point, this team does not let us down when a big crowd is present at last unlike previous teams. I have stayed off the site so as not to cause upset and even when I make a comment supporting this team Robbo and his mates feel obliged to have a go at me. Oh well if it makes them happy!

[quote=“WHS” post=45868]For the first time in living memory a Witton team in front of an expectant large crowd didn’t “Bottle it”.

You stated that it was the first time IN LIVING MEMORY that Witton hadn’t bottled it in front of a big crowd. With bold statements such as that, your comment is bound to be scrutinised.

It’s either a hugely hyperbolic statement, or plain wrong.

Left pegger leave him alone, we all know he rambles along a bit, but without him the forum would not be as errr can’t think of what to say. Cue Robbo etal.
Keep posting WHS !

Always my fault isn’t it WHS…

Firstly who is actually having a go at you? People are DISAGREEING with you. It is allowed you know.

Secondly, stop feeling sorry for yourself. You’re a grown man! Less of the persecution complex please!

Thirdly, just because somebody does happen to disagree with you, that doesn’t mean it has anything to do with me, simply that you may be wrong in this instance. The facts suggest that you are. It’s nothing personal.

Hell Robbo that was quick

What about Marine in the FA Trophy Semi Final 1992 Home and Away, Colchester FA Trophy Final 1992 (we lost but a great effort), Several Northwich V**s derbies on Boxing Day, Wycombe Wanderers FA Trophy Quarter Final 1992 Away, could probably dig a few more out if I could be bothered

In fairness I can’t remember a team EVER bottling in a Witton shirt? mooney

If you look closely that is the point at which he is actually autographing the ball so that it’s ready for the after match raffle…Biggest stonewaller i’ve ever seen not given

Defo a pen but let’s not forget we had already been gifted a pen in the first half .Clearly a big keeper was hardly going to throw himself with great agility on a “hunch” the taker would go left or right ,so to blast it straight at him was asking for it to be saved. it was a replica of the Blythe pen so probably been watched too.Good point to get though and came back into it very well second half.

Blatent penalty. I hope the club post an official complaint to the FA about this incompetence! I WOULD. White men carn’t jump!!! SBL

Have a look at the video on youtube (earlier in this thread). The defender totally mistimed his tackle, nowhere near the ball but took out Matty Wood. No matter that his effort went wide, it was a clear foul. And lets not forget we had a further very good shout for a penalty mid way through the second half, cross from the right was clearly put out of play by a defenders arms, which were certainly not tucked against his sides! He was a good six yards away so had plenty of time to move them out of the way. Linesman had a perfect view.

Good point that the penalty may have been watched, but it was hit hard and on target, an inch higher and it would have gone in.

Slightly away from the topic but the one good thing the pictures show are how good the ground looks with people in it! I still don’t know how, bearing in mind he accepts the ball hit his hand but does not think the header from 6 yards going into the net is deliberate, does he give a corner!

This! Looks great when its got people all the way around. The flags that FC brought look good too, do we need to get a few more things up? Fill in the gaps between sponsor boards?

Or just try and help Ali get some sponsors who want to put boards on the ground as she is doing a great job with other sponsorships, but you can only stretch the elastic so far!

How exactly is she getting these sponsors?!

Dear oh dear
