Hi, is there any chance that someone can give me an update on todays game?! Stuck in work!!:frowning:

according to neil we are winning 1-0. Playing well with a good squad out.

Brilliant! Thanks for the update!

2-0 to witton…skelton

3-0 to witton … players name:unsure:

any1 know final score and 3rd scorer?

Solid first performance under Nige Deeley. Squad looks decent, impressed with the new centre half and left back, Willis looks like just the player we need in the middle of the park, and the striker who started the game looked lively. Very promising start, well done Nige

full time score 3 -0
3rd scorer name uknown but very good player

extremly impressed by the left back and the centre back

Great performance by the new Albion line up, really impressed with the whole team but Willis and Coyne stood out for me as two great signings. Fantastic start well done Nige

Well done everybody involved who helped get this team on the field, and a good result.

It was nice to see Nige did not treat this game as too much of a training session, but treated it more as a proper match.

Just a bit sad we picked up a couple of injuries.

My man-of-the-match was Rod Thornley.

Who was yours?

Matty Awange scored the 3rd:laugh:

ALSAGER TOWN 0 WITTON ALBION 3

Great Albion following at least 3-1 outnumbering the home side. Alsager under former Albion Reserve manager Neil Gill fielded Kurtis Gill, Lewis James, Tom Swann, Dean Williams and Kyle Griffin from last season’s squad and also wearing their No. 10 shirt for the 1st half was the evergreen Joey Roberts, who’s moved from Middlewich to help out on the coaching at Alsager.

ALBION Starting line-up (1-11)read:-

Greg Smith; Paul Donnelly, Gary Scott, Brian Pritchard, Liam Coyne; Scott Willis, Steve Settle, Mark Drew, Keiron Lugsden, Rod Thornley & Dan Skelton.

Subs were Neil Wood (replaced Lugsden 40 mins.), Tony Dunne, Matt Awange, Matt Pearson, Danny Swartz & Ben Hunt.

On 16 minutes a fine move down the left involving the ex Altrincham trio of Scott, Lugsden & Thornley saw the latter cleverly evade three challenges before prodding the ball past the keeper.

The lead was extended whislt most of us were still enjoying the half-time fare! Awange crossing the ball for Skelton to volley home from the edge of the goal area.

15 minutes from time Thornley turned provider after good work on the left to square for Awange to convert from 10 yards out.

i hope this performance in these lads first game together has made those who thought we cant challenge think twice. Well done lads

Great to be back again ! Hard to tell in pre-season games but Coyne looks as if he could be useful and also liked Smith,Willis,Settle and Scott.

Onwards and upwards !

Also noticed an improvement in Chad’s match report !

that number 4 didnt look bad, if he could loose a pound or two, i think he would have a future in football.

The most pleasing aspect today for me, was that all the players looked really hungry and wanted to play. Coyne looked handy both at the back and from dead ball situations, also the right winger in the second really impressed me.

All in all a good workout admittedly agianst a poor side, but for the first game I thought the players gelled well.

Roll on Frickley!!!

I have changed my mind. My man-of-the-match is now PRITCH.

I found out last night, that after the match, instead of going into the club house and having a few pints like the rest of us, Pritch returned to Wincham Park and continued with painting the ground. WHAT A STAR HE IS!
