Great day, great walk apart from sore knees !
Thank you to all my sponsors. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Sam and young master Chadwick, oldest and youngest walkers ! :cheer:
Brilliant effort all, great photo that, says a lot about Witton its history and its future
PS Hope the knees soon recover Doc
23 wittoners made the 3rd annual charity joint walk with runcorn fans yesterday, a
great effort by all. it was walked in the right spirit and speed to suit all
ages from 13 to 89, a slight alteration to the route due to fridays heavy rain
ment that we had to leave the canal at barnton and rejoin it at holehouse lane.
a ten minute tea break was taken at the tunnel top, and then the last one
an half mile stroll to the millbank stadium. i would like to thank runcorn linnets
for the hospitality they gave to all walkers much appreciated. also well done to the
runcorn walkers who also enjoyed the day.

the approximate sponsor money raised is £2500, the final total will be given when
all the money is collected, but its looking like £1250, to witton and £1250 to
the joshua tree trust. again a big well done to all.
Really enjoyed yesterday as a whole, my legs are killing me now though Things like this really reinforce the positive vibe around WAFC at the moment. Great hospitality to RLFC too, who granted free entry and a free can of beer for the walkers. I’ve got a lot of time for Linnets, I hope they reach the Evo-Stik leagues in the near future.
well done to all the walkers, a brilliant effort. as a point of interest could northwich not try to be as hospitable as runcorn always are, surely both witton and runcorn can call themselves GREAT community and friendly clubs. good luck to runcorn, hope to be playing you in a higher league in the not too distant future.
Well done to everyone involved. Tony I’ll be running something in programme so will catch up with you at one of the friendlies to discuss
Great report Tony.

sponsorship walk money can be paid in to either tony waterman, jim powell
or neil wilson. please bring your sponsor form with you so that we can sign it,

at the tuesday night match sept 18 V stocksbridge, a presentation
will be made to the joshua tree, and also to witton albion fc on
behalf of the development fund at h/t.
sponsorship money as started to come in now, but it would be appreicated
if we could have all the money in before the 18th sept.
Hi Tonnee,
Will the presentation be made at the start of half-time, or at the end of half-time? The reason I am asking, is we can advise fans beforehand, and they can go to the bar after watching it, or come back from the bar a couple of mins early to watch it.
proberley best at the start of h/t.
Noticed in the Guardian that the Joshua Tree had some good news this week. As part of their 40 years celebrations, Persimmon Homes held a competition involving 3000 charities. The 24 finalists would receive £6000 each, with the winners also winning a £250,000 house. The Joshua Tree is one of the 24 finalists, and are asking supportors to log on to the following website to vote for them each day:-
