Get back down Andy, I have thought several times over the last few years about jacking watching in, but I would never let other people ruin my enjoyment, your the only losing out its not worth punishing yourself. Come stand with us Grumblies you don’t even know the reason you left is even in the ground
Well done all, blinking heck I do miss Witton
Andy, have been to Alsager twice this season, thought I may have seen you there. You’ve not missed too much since you left, but this season the football has been excellent like a few starts we’ve had in the past, you know the ones, where we blew it big time and went into total meltdown. You decide.
ME - if you are missing it that much get yourself back there because if you leave it too long u may never do it. I know how you feel !
Yesterday was my first proper look at the team this season and im very impressed, Carl has brought in a quality side who have a real hard working team spirit.
The way we played fast attacking football with neat little flicks and quick flowing passes reminded me of the way we played under Jim Vince.
Its going to take a while to learn all the names but as everyone else has said Prince looks a super player with lightning quick feet, the front 2 looked very sharp and there going to score lots of goals with the service their getting.
I would urge fans old and new to get along to a game and see for themselves, the mood amongst the club is lifting at last and that is a bloody good thing after years of gloom
well said matt catt as for 2 trains 1 bus thanks for the doom and gloom.my first game will be market drayton and i cant wait.UTA.
Well said Matt , the team and management are doing their best. Early days but after seeing a couple of friendlies I kind of expected a different performance in anger as it were. If there are Wittoners staying away get yourself back down . If the team are doing it on the pitch then they are doing their bit so the fans have got to back them through the turnstiles, which admittedly will take time. I’ve seen it take a few months before in similar seasons . But there is a definate buzz about these players . Let’s hope it keeps going
Thanks people, I have no problem at all with the supporters, I do have problems with off the field decisions.
Many people have been alienated by some rather strange decisions made by the board, to be honest in my opinion the board has been in place too long.
I woUld love to see Eli back it would give me an incentive to return. I can’t see me returning in the short term, removal of very dubious tenants would certainly help

ME. I stayed away last season because Jim Rushe was involved. However I decided to buy a season ticket this term because we were coerced into keeping Vics by threats of court action, not because we wanted them at our ground. Rushe is where he belongs and you should be where you belong, back at Witton!
WHS.
A good win for you against Colls - credit where credit is due. Looks like you have a decent side this year.
Potential banana skin going on previous seasons in the competition but we negotiated it fairly comfortably. Atherton were very complimentary afterwards wishing us all the best in the next round and saying that "we are the best side they’ve played in a very long time. "
I fully understand how you feel and your stance in not attending but it would be great to see you back just as a fan on the terraces with the rest of us daft buggers! I really wasn’t going to attend when we let V*cs back into Northwich but I soldiered on. Super Carl and his team are doing good work for us and we are looking terrific so far!!
I must say, it is a breath of fresh air, reading positive comments from an 1874 fan on our forum. In my mind, you are very welcome on here.

I have twice been forced out of this club in the last 21 years, when both times I felt I had done nothing wrong. However I still came back, because Witton is in my blood. The last time it happened it took the likes of Neil Wilson and Alison Atkins who found the time to seek me out and to talk me into coming back as a helper.
I personally would love to see you make a return and rejoin all the friends on the terraces who are missing you both.

Its funny but thats how I feel about the club too Andy. As I’ve said before the people running the club are well intentioned and want the best for the club but I also would like to see a fresh face or two on the board which might help us approach some things in a different way. I realise this is not easy though. I can’t comment on the current team as I’ve not had chance to get down to see a game yet but from what people are saying on here and the results we have been getting it all looks very encouraging so maybe one of the failings we’ve had in recent times i.e. choice of football management has been solved this time. I just feel that we’ve missed the boat in the last couple of years looking at where a club like Curzon Ashton are and where we are and also having the chance to be the top club in town with all the turmoil surrounding Vics. We have’nt taken advantage of this and as you say a lot of it boils down to some of the decision making. I’d love to see yourself. Eli, and people like Brian Pritchard welcome back at the club because life is too short to deny yourself the pleasure of being with friends and watching the club you love. In Brians case not necessarily doing anything but just as a respected ex player like we see Brian Griffin for example because after all the lad gave us 19 seasons of his life and its criminal that the situation has developed like it has with no blame attached to anyone.
It takes a big man to come back twice when he’s had a disagreement with the club and I know Mr Thatched Tavern well and he is a guy I have the utmost respect for both as a friend and as someone who I was associated with in my professional career. So Jeff is right its daft to deny yourself contact with friends and the club even if you don’t always agree with some of the decisions being made. Its about the club not one individual so please get back on the terrances where you belong and bring Eli with you please please please!!
Totally agree MONA. I made my protests when I felt wrong decisions were being made but I always came back because whether I like it or not I was born a Wittoner and will die one. I have never felt that our board was intentionally making what I considered bad decisions because I know they are all committed Wittoners too. We seem to be back on the right track now so it is time for ALL Wittoners to put our disagreements behind us and move ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!

To be fair TT it’s a good result and as Bob says, credit where its due.
I apologise if my initial comment was taken out of concept and diverted this topic. I wish the supporters and the football team of WittonAlbion all the very best for this season. I don’t think it is aprropriate for me to post again. However I will keep visiting the site. ziggazaga
