ATTENDANCE AT, AND PARTICIPATION IN MATCHES

I was there that night Ledley, sadly at the far end. I remember screaming over and over again “SHOOT”!!!
WHS.

Thought I’d put my tupenny’s worth in.

I was stood behind the goal and like most around waited and applauded the team when they came over so it was some minutes before I moved away from the area certainly not sensing anything toward/

It was then a real shock when a Buxton official approached us in the boardroom siting not only this incident but also stating that the “ringleader” had been identified - hence why Pete & Graham hastened themselves over to the social club area.

Now whilst never condoning any of the alleged behavior what did really surprise me was that spectators were allowed all through the proceedings to be allowed to consume alcohol whilst on the terraces, albeit not in a glass container.

In view of this maybe some sort of advisory communication needs to be conveyed to all football clubs, as of course no other sport I know of has an issue with the demon drink being consumed by its spectators.

You can drink all day at a cricket match. (If you can afford it!) Sounds to me that this is a big fuss over very little but I fully understand that the club have to show they are dealing with it or risk the wrath of the FA.

WHS.

Phil, would you be able to let me know what the alleged incident was (pm or on here) as im still in the dark over what happened plus you said ringleader so does this mean i wasnt the only person involved?
I know it sounds crazy but i drank so much on saturday i cannot remember the game at all, as ive already said i thought we had lost the game thats how bad i was! Its not an excuse for my behaviour but at the moment im not even sure what im being blamed for?
First i knew of an incident was on sunday when it was alleged i was face to face with a linesman? then later on it changed from the linesman to the referee?!
I vaguely remember Peter pulling me to one side but i dont recall any mention of the referee incident just the fact i ran onto the pitch?
Did the ref get threatened or is this just a rumour from a buxton fan?
Once again i would like to apologise for any embarresment i have caused, believe me nobody can put into words how bad i feel but not being able to remember makes it even worse

Seems that there is some mischief being created in social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, from people who weren’t there. Video highlights here http://bfctv.net/buxton-2-witton-2/ show the officials leaving the field and other than a few choice comments, nothing else is evident.

Cheers Eddie, i cant see the footage till im home later but if what your saying is right then the safety officer from Buxton who said i was face to face with the ref and threatened him is not telling the truth!

Hmmm haven’t we suffered that already this season?

:silly:

What are you referring to Club-Shop?

Saturday has gone forget it, Chorley tonight. Big game where unified support is needed.

Let’s move on

I did ask one of our supporters whether it was wise to drink outside and Outside I mean quite near to far end.I was told there was no problem.I then told him it didn’t happen at Witton only to be told it did.
It doesn’t mate and never has So next time don’t,please.

Graham Shuttleworths bit in tonights programme is completely given over to this issue He says we have "allready had to respond to an FA charge about encroachment at the end of the playoff final! THAT has to be bollix surely? AND the ref waved us all on at the final whistle!

The video of the Buxton game quite clearly shows the officials safely down the tunnell at the end so where the hell did this alleged abuse of the ref take place one wonders!?

Here’s the explanation from the Blyth programme, not read tonights but we were certainly asked to respond.

I don’t know if there were any wittoners by the tunnel but i was behind the goal and didn’t hear anything untoward directed at the referee throughout the game, including anything from Yorkshire Red. Biggest mountain out of a molehill i’ve ever heard and it seems instigated by a few buxton fans on twitter and/or their steward at our end who seemed quite intent on spoling the friendly fun we are having and was looking to get someone in trouble for no apparent reason.

After studying the footage from buxton tv its clear that nobody confronted the ref at full time, no wonder i have no memory of clashing face to face with the ref because it never happened!!
The ref walks off with Pritch close by his side and i know Pritch would of clipped my ears if i did what the steward at Buxton says i did!
Strange also that theres not one mention of an incident on the Buxton forum!
I hope now that this matter is put to bed although some photos of my strip may turn up one day soon!

I have just recieved an apology from the safety officer at buxton fc who has also confirmed that nothing took place after watching the match video

Great news for you there!

I have just got back from holiday to read this, and I was there at the game and walked around with the Witton Fans from behind the goal after the game and I can say there was nothing wrong with what I saw (although I didn’t witness any stripping ha ha) although the when we came in I thought the Social Club opening up onto the terraces was a great idea, maybe not ha ha mooney
