Basford United vs Witton Albion

Witton travel to the East Midlands on Saturday when they take on fellow promotion rivals Basford United in an Evo-Stik Division One South fixture. The Nottingham based club are going extremely well in their current campaign and have won six out of the last seven league games. Witton managed to overcome their hosts in the return meeting at The NetDec Stadium earlier in the season, winning by the odd goal in three but Basford certainly gave an impressive performance that day and almost took something from the game. Their home form is impressive, only Chasetown have gone away from Greenwich Avenue with maximum points and that was back in August. They have also progressed through to the next round of the Integro Doodson League Cup, having disposed of Premier Division Matlock Town on penalties in midweek. So Witton face a difficult test in this fixture but they have overcome challenges before and will need no motivation for this encounter, as they look to keep their impressive away form going. Basford will certainly give them another difficult game and it could be another close run thing. Kick off at Greenwich Avenue is 3pm.

In my opinion the best team we’ve played at Wincham Park this season, including all the cup games. A very difficult task to get a win from this one so I’ll take a point

good luck today boys, this will be a tough test UTA
