BBC Sport Article

Sully and the Club get a brief mention here, as Witton are one of only 14 clubs in the top 7 tiers of English football to employ a black manager.

I never even noticed his colour and why should I? It is disgraceful that prejudice is still rife in this country, time for us all to take EVERYONE as we find them, if they are hateful creeps or wonderful people it should not matter what colour they are or their sex or their religion. Come on Sully, show them how it is done!!
WHS.

PS. I don’t know about Black Managers, in the Premier League it would be nice to see a few more English ones particularly of the top ten teams.
WHS.

After retiring as a player, Barnes had a brief stint as head coach of Celtic in 1999–2000, working alongside Kenny Dalglish. He took over as manager of the Jamaica national team in 2008, but resigned six months later to become manager at Tranmere Rovers. He was sacked by Tranmere in 2009, after a series of poor results that saw the club make one its poorest starts to a season in its history.

That’s why John Barnes can’t get a job because he has proved he can’t manage!!! Another BBC left wing nonsense article. It’s ability that gets you jobs not colour!

But a positive light on the club is good.

Absolutely right, and I also didn’t even think of Sully as a black manager but just as our manager and worthy of our support whist he finds his feet at this level (hopefully keeping us up in the process!).

But we are not allowed to “take everyone as we find them” at all, as if someone is in one of the “protected characteristics” groups we cannot possibly call them a hateful creep or anything else derogatory. It’s what led to the street grooming gangs of Asian men being given carte blanch to carry on raping and abusing young white girls as there was a fear of “appearing racist”. Those finally convicted were not charged with racist crime, which the other way round it certainly would have been.

At work there are BAME, BLGT, Disability and women’s support groups…I do not fit any of those.

Anyway enough of that shite COME ON THE ALBS COME ON SULLY LET’S DO THIS!!

Agree with Jonny on this and personally I couldn’t care less if Sully is black, white or purple provided he does a good job for the Albs! In my opinion the reason why none of the names on the list are premier league managers (excluding Chris Ramsey and of course our Sully) doesn’t have anything to do with the colour of their skin - its because they are shit managers, end of! Admittedly I haven’t heard much of some of them further down the pyramid, Chris Hughton did ok at Newcastle in his first job but has not been overly impressive since. Keith Curle as far as I know has been rubbish at just about every club he’s managed. John Barnes was useless as a manager too.

The day football leagues (any of them) have to have a certain number of black, Chinese, Asian etc managers or players, purely to be politically correct, will be the day I stop watching football. It should be the best man for the job, regardless of skin colour, as in every other walk of life.

I’ve got a feeling that figure will be 13 before too long!

Might be sooner than we think!
