Certainly,
The NRSC is the North Riding Senior Cup, which is a bit like the Cheshire Senior Cup (but in North Riding)!
North Riding itself is historically one of three smaller parts (Counties) that make up Yorkshire (a bit like Mid Cheshire, East Cheshire, etc). The football clubs in this geographical area are still under the jurisdiction of the North Riding FA. As such all clubs in this area (which include Middlesbrough and Whitby) take part in the local county cup competition.
Last night’s game was a quarter final and following Middlebrough’s 5-0 victory they are now in the semi-final.
Another way of looking at this is that it guarantees that Middlesbrough get at least one piece of silverware every year, they have won it 5 times in the last 8 years.
Glad to be of assistance. Of course I knew all of the above and didn’t need to google NRSC.

Cheers for clearing that up must be there reserves then basically, just because it never mentioned anything on the Boro site about the fixture I thought there must have been another Middlesbrough.
You would have thought they would excuse them from that competition now.

Not at all. See the Marine programme whose cover features the celebrations after they beat Liverpool in the equivalent competition in their neck of the woods.
I’m sure Jeff could supply even more info on the County FA structure.

See article on Middlesbrough F.C.'s official website. Basically a reserves side playing at Whitby, all players eligible for Boro under 18s. Attendance was just 129.
That makes sense. There’s no way Middlesborough’s First Team would have beaten Whitby 5-0!
