Now the sale of tony barras has been confirmed, any idea who our captain will be this season? Surely it has to be pritch doesnt it?
As far as I am concerned there is only one choice, the large shiny top central defender is THE choice!
has to be pritch the 1 and only
Goes without saying that Pritch has to be the captain, or at least a major contender for it!
…with Rodders as vice captain, I suggest.
Difficult to judge after only seeing him play for an hour but I believe that Gary Scott would also be capable of captaining the side at some point in the future. He appeared to be a very good communicator and an extremely good pro.
I know we all have our opinion, but it is not our choice. Let’s leave the decision to Nige, and when he makes it, support him to the hilt
Onward and Upwards
Yeah i suppose Nige will know who’s best for the job, after all he is the one who is training with the players seeing their strengths & weaknesses. What ever the decision it is he makes (pritch or not) i’m sure it will prove to be the right person for the job.
It would be nice if Pritch did get chose though.
C’mon Witton
I think this season we have a number of players that could captain the side with the experience they’ve got but as with everyone else Pritch would be my choice. I’m sure the player Nige chooses will lead the side well anyway.
I think me may need 11 captains this season… Although i’d love to see Pritch awarded the armband again, it’s difficult to say really until we have seen the leadership qualities of some of the other players Nige has brought in.
Pritch will always be a leader on the pitch regardless of whether he has the armband or not.
All very good points and absolutely right that whoever Nige feels is the right man for the job will get our support. The counter argument for my choice of Pritch is that he behaves like a captain regardless of the armband and you could argue therefore that the impact of awarding the captaincy to someone else may boost that person’s role. An interesting debate and I feel sure Nige will pick his man.
Robbo is spot on, we will need 11 captains this season, when you get the teamwork right and they play for one another it is worth a 12th man. We have a great supporting spirit behind the club that can help to bond these new set of players.
