They still come anyway I think.
Understandably Pritch tries to improve the squad ,that’s just the way it goes. But Whilst some Questioned BOothys ability,I have to say that i never saw him as ineffective or vulnerable as big DM in the few games he played for the Albs. DM may have needed games To get fit etc but Boothys spirit alone had him head and shoulders aBove DM.was hell of a risk to sacrifice another who had WItton in his blood and its backfired.i am also struggling to understand the sympathy angle for a guy who has frankly "done one " not supported Pritch when he must have known the Boothy thing was difficult decision .Sorry but that’s how I see it and it surprises me on a number of fronts
Looking at some of the clubs Meadowcroft has played for, it was a no-brainer to bring him in when the opportunity arose.
It was clear for all to see that changes needed to be made at the back. It was a constant course of frustration on the terraces at how much we missed a defender who would attack the ball and organise the back four.
For all the qualities Boothy brings to the team (and he has been a good servant to Witton too), his CV simply does not read as impressively as that of Danny Meadowcroft.
If somebody was going to lose their place in the starting XI to accommodate Meadowcroft, then it stands to reason that it would be Boothy. Ben has too much potential to be left out (plus he has been excellent again this season).
It is also worth noting that Boothy has not been released. He chose to distance himself from the Club over recent weeks, and as far as i know we still hold his registration.
Also taking into account Boothy’s recent injury situation, and i can’t fault Pritch in this one at all.
With hindsight, the situation is an unfortunate one. But Pritch certainly cannot be blamed for that.
Anyway; Meadowcroft is a Colwyn Bay player now, so maybe it’s time we let this one drop?
