I have just noticed that on his very generous budget Mr Vince has lead Halifax to the top of the Unibond North league BUT in socond place are Durham just 3 points behind and an amazing 7 games in hand!
Mark Peers has joined AFC Halifax today.
Jim only needs a couple more for a full set of former players. Brownhill must be on the shortlist!
He is building a side of mercenaries at the Shay. None of these players want to play their football in Unibond 1 but the money on offer appears to good to turn down.
Durham to overtake them and a defeat in the play-offs would be a fitting end to his reign at Halifax. Of course he will blame someone else if that happens! In many ways a rather hope they do come up as I look forward to his Wincham Park return!
So you will be happy whatever outcome then Si?..
must admit it would be nice to give the snake a nice welcome home to WP next season…unless we go up in the play-offs this year? surely not!! lol
Durham City went top last night, level on points but ahead on goal difference.
Two very interesting threads off the Halifax Town forum. Seems like opinion on JV is split. Seems also to be a lot of familiar themes in there.

Not been taking much notice of Halifax but just seen that they were beaten at home by Woodley Sports today.
Looking at the League Table they really have blown the Title Race, are now 3rd and look like finishing 4th or 5th!
Definitely deja vu - but this time the budget can’t be blamed, they are employing Conference North players and have 5 times the gate of their rivals.
No doubt it will be someone elses fault and not the Managers!
Ah,it’s probably time for the great prima donna adder to sulk and hide in manager’s office whenever Halifax loose.
I suppose it’s that time of the season eh! :]
The Shayman’s message board makes for very amusing reading although I can’t help feeling sorry for their fans as they have had to learn what we already know!
The clock appears to be ticking for the snake. Their board is full of posts titled ‘Rumours of discontent’, ‘Vince’s tactical ineptitude’, ‘The excuse meister has spoken on website’, ‘Vince out’ and ‘Jim Vince and Halifax in crisis’.
Accusations include; poor tactics, tinkering with the side and formations too often, losing the dressing room, players and officials moaning about him in private, repeating the same textbook post-match comments, having no contacts other than ex witton and crewe players, etc, etc.
The sooner Halifax realise that there is no smoke without fire and that they are closer to the truth than they realise, then the sooner they can get on with rebuilding their club. He conned plenty of us (me included) for long enough.
It would be better for Halifax now if they didn’t go up in the play-offs, otherwise the danger for them is he might keep his job!
Strangely Kennedy appears to be getting stick too, not having a good time there by all accounts. Strange given that he was acknowledged as the best keeper in a division higher last season! Peers is another mercenary who despite his parting claims of wanting to play football in a higher league as worked his way to Halifax (guess what, on more money than he was getting at Fleetwood)!!!
The grass is not always greener. The snake is Mr Plausible so will probably walk into another job anyway, he will interview well, just never deliver.
If you do venture onto their websites allow plenty of time, there’s masses of discontent:)
Indeed Dodger an hour or two is hardly enough, you will need to take a day off to fully enjoy the criticism being cast in his direction.
Shaymen1710 says in " Vince out"
Quote ’ He is a nearly man who can’t deliver what he preaches’
We know that, don’t we ?
Halifax slipped out of the Play Off places at the weekend

JV’s team selections and tactics have baffled me all season and He seems unable to get the players UP for the big games.[/quote]
Sounds pretty familiar?
Well it is near Easter and that time of the year when ‘The Snake’ blows it.
