Witton Albion Manager Scott Dundas is delighted to have captured the services of striker Alex Titchiner ahead of the new season. The striker, who has netted 65 goals in 135 appearances over two spells has committed himself to the club for the forthcoming season. Titchiner will also continue to lead the club’s Community Programme - Witton Albion In The Community.
“Alex made clear his desire to stay at the club since we began discussions after Christmas” explained Chairman Mark Harris. “It has just taken a little longer to tie up the details than either of us expected.” “However, we have a clear plan to take the team and Witton Albion In The Community forward, and Alex has a big part to play in both.”
New manager Scott Dundas echoes his chairman’s sentiments. “Alex is a player with massive pace and ability.” “He’s proven at this level and is certain to give opposing defenders no end of problems in the coming season.”
Titchiner is pleased the paperwork is finally signed and said:
“I’m pleased to have finally been able to put pen to paper on extending my time at the club.” “I made it clear at Christmas that I intended to stay regardless of survival or relegation.” “When I gave up professional football to return to Witton Albion, I did so with the commitment to try and do my best to help the club progress both on and off the field.” “One bad season does not change that.
" We all know how difficult last season was and a lot has gone on in that time but, we have a job to do.” Am I still hurting after relegation? Of course I am." “The easy option would have been to walk away.” “Instead, I’m looking forward with excitement as to what we can all achieve together.” “It’s time to bring the good times back to this football club.” #UTA!
Brilliant news, got to be the best signing of the summer. Really chuffed that Titch has signed on again.Excited now and can’t wait for the season to start.
We will probably have the best striker in the league, lets hope he gets plenty of service to feed on this season. By all accounts the new manager likes his attacking football so this sounds very promising. UTA
Spoke to Titch last Tuesday night at the training session at Moss Farm and he told me then it was always his intention to re-sign for Witton it was at that point just a question of sorting out his community stuff. I kept mum about it on here just in case, as we’ve had too much controversy on here lately and I did’nt want to broadcast this till the lad himself made it official.
I’m delighted Titch is staying and he’s looking sharp and hopefully getting a full pre season in will give him that edge he always had against defenders. If effort is the key thing Titch has this in abundance and with him Stotty and Lee Cropper we have a really good strikeforce on paper that looks like we might score plenty of goals. Well done Titch brilliant your staying!! Onward and Upward.
