FC United vs Witton Albion

I thought it best to leave out Tuck tonight, well until the game kicked off anyway! we were never in the game to be honest and after their 2nd goal it was curtains, without Tuck we are crap tbh, no movement and little imagination! half time music choice of White Riot was disgraceful and aimed at us and at full time the scoreboard read FC AGAINST RACISM!!
Now my opinion changed and what we should of done is let Tuck play and run rings around these dickheads because he would of loved the chance but good old Witton dont like upsetting other teams so we banned him from turning up! i dont like to tell the manager what to do but we all know what differance Tuck would of made tonight!

I’m not trying to stir things up coz I want the divide between witton fans to end now I really do but Shaun tuck is the only real striker we’ve got right now! I don’t know what difference he would have made tonight coz we didn’t create much but if he would have played who knows? UTA.

I don’t honestly think that one up front often works for Witton, from a results or entertainment point of view. Our best spell was with 2 strikers and I do think Nev deserves a run in the team. After coming back from suspension Powell has got booked in both games and I wince when he goes into the tackle. He has to change or we will be without him every few games which is no good for our creativity. Despite it being a poor night our centre backs were still excellent when faced with a pacy and creative FCUM side. In other respects, a few players seem to be ‘hiding’ at the moment. I don’t like to name them, but we have a few squad players that are challenging for places, in my book.

Well an awful night for the Albs, played poorly, ill dIsciplined, poor goalkeeping thought he was at fault for 2nd and 3rd goals definitely not a penalty for FC Utd , Olly sent off and to lose Moyo and Gards to injuries just compounds the issue further, I agree that many players are not putting a shift in but disagaree that we have squad players pushing for a place our bench is dreadful to be honest, grocott was a sub who got subbed last night and he deserved to be- so for me the only positives out of last night were the return to the team of Sheehan who some dont like but i think he adds energy tenacity and brings a tempo to the team that gets us playing football, his supposed replacement Platt I fail to see what he does ! no pace no real passing quality not aggressive and as for his shooting - poor. so a bad night out of the way and Ilkeston and Skem to come next ! - we are in for a tough ride maybe. I hope Moyo and Gards injuries are not too serious ( Gards did look bad tho ) and we can bring Tuck back in with Thompson and Sheehan to start we might see an improvement if we are to play 1 up front then he has to be better than Wilson who I must say works really hard but he has no real pace and is easily bullied by centre backs and in this role really offers little goal threat ! maybe with Tuck on he might be better. Overall my view is we need to get out and scout for 2-3 players who offer a goal threat and hopefully with some pace ( FC utd had this and always look a threat ) and improve the squad getting rid of players who are not really at this leve, l the hard work needs to start now for pritch and his team in finding new blood, we as fans need to keep the faith and allow him to keep his budget stable whilst he gets stuck in. UTA

One of my main concerns is Ollie James, three yellows and a red in the first six matches this season. If Ollie was to change the way he plays then he wouldn’t be the player he is or can be. However, he is no use to the team if he is going to be sat in the stands suspended for large parts of the campaign.

I think he is maybe frustrated with his own and the teams form and maybe it is showing, on his day and playing well he is very good remember the promotion semi and final and he was my mom on both occasions, however with Sheehan back and Powell we have cover for central midfield so can afford to lose him more concerned about lack of effective strikers and injuries to our key defenders is there any update on these ?

Does look like we have an issue at full back for satdee. Might be worth coming the reserves to run the rule over theirs tomorrow :

Just seen a picture of Gards leg in plaster. Will be like that for 6 weeks

Just shows you how quickly football can change. On Saturday Coops was fantastic and almost made certain we would win the game. Then last night an error that nobody would’ve expected from him but then again, all keepers make them.

no matter what people think of tucky we need him in our side as he is our only forward who can scare defences.UTA.

It is surely frustration that Olly and Powell seem to be getting Yellow/reds every game. Nothing is working, we arn’t getting the ball so we can’t pass the ball like this team damn well can and take the game to the opposition and threaten them. It just isn’t happenning and it might be a “hangover” from the failed playoff bid last season??? Its all very well saying scout more players/ attackers but we just cannot afford them. Dammed if I know what to do but faith in the team and the management is neede!!

pritch will do all he can to get us up and running again, so let’s just get behind him and the team to get out of this lethargic spell. this is a good team, they just need to believe in themselves once more. tuesday’s game was awake up call for the players, we played poorly, but if the team start to play as we know they can things will improve. come on you wittoners get behind the team to lift them.

Following his dismissal, Ollie will miss league fixtures at Stocksbridge and the home games against Blyth Spartans & AFC Fylde. Should the FA Cup tie at Ashton be drawn then I think he would miss the replay.

We will miss ollies drive and ball winning but maybe Sheehan and powell will give us a better passing balance ? as regards scouting new players I dont mean just adding players but changing the balance of the squad within existing budget I see a lad called Dereece Gardner (ex Ilkeston now moved to this area - Stoke ? ) played for the ressies last night he is pacy striker who scores goals so maybe he is the replacement for Fossie and for me Platt could be moved on and add a full back/defender to give a better balance maybe Josh Glover will be back -I know hes close for saturday and connors at left back we wont be too badly off if cliff and gards are out long term- not sure ! As I said earlier not too worried because Pritch does seem to see things that are wrong and works at it to improve so im sure we will get back our form might be too late for playoffs etc but as long as we improve and compete I will for one be happy maybe focus on a decent cup run or two this could release a bit more budget for the players as well.
