whos gone in goal for fleetwood? is it that diveing ***** foster?
just thought with foster loveing to dive around goal keeper might have been the best place for him at the mo seeing that we want to shoot at him (footballing terms)
Thats it 0-0! good result i suppose! well done boys! shame about when the injury came!
I expect a lot of us would’ve taken a point before the match started, I know I would.
Then with Fleetwood losing their keeper injured, I feel slightly disappointed that we couldn’t get all three but at least the gap between us remains as it was.
Wheels, I think that sums it up pretty well.
Fleetwood started the brightest and we were on the back foot for the opening 15 minutes. The speed of their play was impressive if not the quality of their finishing, they were however the best side that we have played this season. They gave us no time to play although in contrast I thought we sat off them a little bit too much.
We started the second half very well and if not for the heroics of their keeper could have nicked a goal. The break in play definitely took the sting out of the game and helped them more than us. I think the incident that led to their keeper’s injury was actually a kick from his own player, but could not see that closely in the scramble! It is a shame that we could not test their stand in keeper during the last 20 minutes. Hope their lad is alright although selFISHly it could do us a favour!
Thought that the central defenders for both sides had very good games and this reflects the 0-0 scoreline.
It was a better result for us than it was for them - a point away is better than two dropped at home. Not an easy away game after the long trip to Whitby on Saturday, remember most of the lads will have worked Monday/Tuesday as well.
Would have to give Macca man of the match, thought it was just his kind of game last night. Barras was also superb.
I don’t think we need to fear any opposition in this league - league tables don’t often lie!
Very reminiscent of the Burscough game away last season. Neither side dominated, too much at stake for either side to lose, very few clear cut chances, the difference being that we got a result this time!
I think we set our stall out early doors to go and get a point (neither full back bombing on) and its job done.
Shame about the keeper getting injured during our best spell of play and support. It broke the game up, and after that we managed only one shot on target against a stand-in keeper.
As rabbit said both defences well on top. Pritch and Barras were immense.
With the amount of goals we’ve been scoring lately, i really wanted us to go for it last night - although a point is an excellent result.
After their keeper went off i couldn’t help feeling that it was a missed opportunity to win the game and put a bit of daylight between us. But at least it’s Fleetwood away ticked off for the season now.
And of course, had we drawn 0 - 0 away at Fleetwood last season then we would of won the league.
Thought Rod Thornley was a constant threat last night.
Job done last night, played well in a tight game, we could have nicked it but all in all a fair draw and a point earned.
Did anyone thnk that match was really short… especially with the length of time their keeper was down for ???
Not like watching Brazil - but a good point gained. Thought their floodlights were poor especially the view from behind the goal - no wonder the cameras could not pick up the play. MOM Baras .

Interesting that the banner headline on the Cod’s Forum states that "Witton escaped with a point…" Hardly a reflection on the game I would have thought.
Although the post-match comments on the forum reflect the true nature of the game and their relief at getting a point.
Hope their keeper has a speedy recovery, but we should have made of his absence. Even some long range crosses/shots to the stand-in. I think he only had one long range effort from Lloyd to deal with.
All in all though, 4 points from the 2 seaside games will do for me! Now, where’s me bucket and spade gone…
Oh yes, the NPL TV coverage was crap! OK, they reckon they had some bandwidth issues at the ground but, jeeeesus, has the cameraman never heard of "pan" or "zoom"! Dead frustrating…good job it was free! Rant over…
Can I have a go on a donkey now?..pleeeeaaaassseeee.
Yeah a good point I think from what I could see the conditions didnt look the best and with a high wind etc it was never going to be easy.
If you look at last year, we got beat there so it shows we have improved since last year and are capable of grinding results out! If we draw away and win at home against our main title rivals we wont be far away this season. Well done lads and keep it up!
On another note I agree the NLP coverage wasnt the best but was certainly better than nothing at all and am sure they will put it right for future matches, after all nothing like this has been done before and its still in relative infancy! So lets hope they keep showing the Albion matches, especially for people like myself who live down south!
Agree Nick, better than nothing but hellishly frustrating. Also agree, great for us remote fans. I would willingly pay for each game providing the quality OK. As an advert for a fledgling service, they did themselves no favours last night.
Can’t argue with anything on this forum, or Fleetwood’s, come to that. Seems like both managers, teams, and sets of supporters considered it a good night’s work. Good, solid, professional performance from both sides, and a pretty entertaining game, more so than 0-0 might suggest. Good gate, too, wish we could get that many!
I see from the Cod Army site that the majority of their supporters are keen to rid the club of the unruly element that has caused trouble in the past, and certainly the atmosphere there last night was welcoming - at least, I never saw any hint of bother.
Indeed, the only slightly sour note was from our own supporters - I know it was a long delay, but when the goalkeeper was genuinely injured, I didn’t feel that the barracking that he and the referee got was very sporting. That kind of behaviour should be beneath us - don’t forget our team is top of the fair play league as well! Our club is building a reputation to be proud of, both on and off the field, and we need to play our part in that.
Didn’t think much of the floodlights, but loved the terracing at the south end - great view! Also, I must mention the fish and chips I got from the shop just outside the south entrance - excellent, and only £1.80!
Perfect example of the goal-keepers union crying wolf! You must admit that at first glance it looked like a deliberate tactic to break up the game, so while not condoning our supporters behaviour, it’s understandable.
Having said all that, he did get a considerable round of applause when he did eventually go off. And to be honest, I’ve seen players with broken legs taken from the field quicker - I think that’s the frustrating bit.
It was 8 minutes before they decided to take him off. Let’s just say they used the situation to the maximum advantage for them…and it worked!
And that was the frustration!! He was always going to be taken off, so why delay it for 7 or 8 minutes!! It appeared to be blatent gamesmanship from Fleetwood at a time when they were looking like conceding.
