Hyde United have announced the passing of former Tigers and Witton Albion player Tony Steenson.
Tony joined the club in 1984/85 but only made six appearances.

Chad informed me yesterday of the passing of former Witton player Brian Rimmer in recent months. He played for Witton between 1967/69 and made over 100 appearances scoring in excess of 40 goals.
I remember him being a member of the first Witton team I ever saw alongside the likes of Trevor Ogden, Stuart Davey, Dave Lambert, Paddy Daly, Bill Tynan and my favourite Witton player of all-time, Dave Carrick.
Following a frustrating time with injuries over seventeen months, former Albion midfielder Michael “MJ” Monaghan has announced his retirement from playing.
MJ made 14 appearances and 10 as a substitute during the 2019/20 season, scoring twice.
Rob Hopley has left Vauxhall Motors as he’s not able to commit to the end of the season.
Runcorn Linnets have announced the signing of defender Jack Byrne from Stalybridge Celtic.
Jack had a brief spell at Witton a few seasons ago.
