Due to cancelled fixtures over the festive period the Reserves have not kicked a football since
6th December competitively nor have we consistantly trained due to holiday closure of our training
location.
HOWEVER GOOD NEWS FAVOURS THE BRAVE:

AT THE SANDBACH COMMUNITY SPORTS CENTRE KO 4PM.
We will be fielding a side of regular reserve players and trialists.

Reserves win 4-3 on a freezing afternoon against a very strong Sandbach United who play 2 leagues above ourselves in the Cheshire Premier Division.
In a team made up of Youth Team players, Trialists and Reserves we started off very brightly but found ourselves a goal down which we very soon pegged back. We again went behind only to level the score once again before the end of the first 3rd of the game.
With a little reshuffle and a little tweaking we scored 2 without reply and were dominant in the game moving the ball very well.
During the last 3rd of the game players were starting to feel the strain owing to the lack of games and we had to take players off to protect them for more important games ahead so we played the last 10 minutes with 10 men. It was only at this point that Sandbach got a grip in the game and scored but only after our trialist GK had pulled off a number of stunning saves.
I have now moved to sign the keeper who was outstanding throughout and with a number of other trialists impressing I will be looking to add these players into our squad. Should these players sign then competition for a starting place in the team is extremely fierce but the strength in depth that we will have will only make us more competitive.
We are now also very strong in the GK department and the new signings will be a welcome challenge for the No.1 jersey.
