Gates

Couldn’t help noticing that no league “Gate” at Witton has been below 400 since December last year and most have been above 500. With promotion I honestly believe that if Vics do go down our gates will match, or even beat theirs especially as many Vics fans hate giving Connett their money.

Think it was 366 v Lincoln a fortnight ago…

On the Witton web site there was no gate given for that game so you may well be right.

I’m convinced the disgracefully ‘organised’ roadworks had an effect on the gate that day. I know I gave up after queuing for ages and getting nowhere.

That’s dedication Mike…

I am sure there were other excuses too - like grand national day etc etc.

We have got a number of supporters who are starting to drift back and see games. The wins against Lincoln and Guiseley will have restored some faith after the no-show against Fleetwood. It is going to take a long time to win back some of the supporters who have turned their backs on us over the years, but we are getting there and Neil and Co are doing a super job with the youngsters

I thought the Grand National was the week later - no wonder my horse didn’t win.

The same youngsters that would of been playing on the pitch had the weather not got in the way… Unfortunate, as playing at WP could really make the difference when these youngsters are deciding which club to follow.

The pitch situation is just unfortunate given the weather we are experiencing at the moment. I know my mate Sprucie, Bob(ex policeman), and another great mate Pete Robinson to name but three put a hell of a lot into keeping the pitch as good as possible. The problem is that we now need to consider some outlay on it to make it drain better but the lads involved know better than me whats required!
Its a shame about the kids I know my own lad was made up to play on there when he was 10 or 11 or so and it must be dissapointing. I think on the whole though the club does a lot to attract kids Neil and young Chad have been doing a great job and don’t forget the work done by Jim himself with the soccer schools.Lets hope the finals to come can be played on the ground.

It might be worth noting that as far as I’m aware there is actually an event in May on the main pitch involving the witton junior teams. (presuming its still going ahead)
