Good grief !

Sorry this is in the wrong category but this foreign computer has a mind of its own.
See that Ossett Town have released the price of a season ticket £75 full and £40 cons !!
does anyone know of a good estate agent in that area ?

Looks like they have undercut neighbours Ossett Albion, theirs are £100. Both in our league I believe!

Yes Paul they are. Two trips to Ossett next season (at least) plus a few other Yorkshire outings as well.

Been to one of them before, cant remember which though. Do they share the same ground?

No they don’t mate. Ossett albion was my first away game so I’m looking forward to going back.
I remember there being a 30 degree slope from one side of the pitch to the other

There are plenty of great season ticket offers around. £149 for Bradford City, FC United pay what you can afford from £90 to many sides that offer season tickets at £100. Others offer half season tickets for those that can’t make it every week. Plenty of new forward thinking ideas, will we follow suit? Not anytime in the near future.

They all sound great ! But until you see the club balance sheet at the end of the season you won’t know if it will work so it’s a gamble, if it doesn’t come off then someone has to pay ! You might get a few more through the door but loose money overall ? However we should monitor the idea and see if it works then consider again maybe.

Ossett Towns ground is opposite the bus station and had mobile phone masts on all the floodlights.

Ossett Albions ground is joint on to Ossett Cricket Club and has the slope.
One of my best friend’s is the Ossett Albion juniors Manager and the banter has already started between the 2 of us.

Some great pubs in Ossett and a cracking real ale pub near Ossett Albion selling local ales made by the Ossett Micro Brewery so im delighted were going twice in the next few months.

went to ossett albion to see us win 6-0 in fa cup a few years back and watched a bit of cricket,it was red hot.

Interesting concept, from a finance point of view speculate to accumulate but at what cost? Never hear any stories of clubs saying “what a roaring success it was etc” (do correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember seeing any.

Incidentally our prices have dropped 10% for adults and more for concs (albeit we have been relegated)

The other aspect people rarely pick up on is the free U15’s which the club have operated without restrictions for the last decade and more. Very few clubs have such an open policy with kids coupled with the family days each year and regularly charge which I’m sure deters some families/juniors.

Discuss!

the town is so small but it’s a credit to both clubs that they survive as they both struggle to get 100 at an home game.

I suppose its (Helen) worth it for the Albion fans.

Well said Neil, lets remember its worth paying a little bit extra to watch football in our fantastic surroundings.

We can pay 4 pound for a pint in a fancy bar and yet we still do it.

I would much rather pay a pittance extra for the facilities that we have, its a highly emotive topic but still good value for money. What we need to do is nudge a cattle prod into the ribs of the carnt be bothered / it started to rain types and our cause would be so much better for it.
