FT. Newcastle Town 2 Shaw Lane AFC 3.

Brilliant result again and a clean sheet to boot. Shame about SL coming back again from 2-0 down, but I think we all knew we would have to go there and beat them anyway.
Looking forward to Tuesday and a rare “home” game for the Otley crew! We CAN do this - UTA!

Solid, professional performance and the three points never looked in doubt once we went one up. How these lads have kept the energy levels up, after so many recent games, and still perform to such a high standard is beyond me. A few looked like the walking wounded (Rob Hopley looked like he could hardly walk never mind run) so lets hope there are no major injury concerns for Tuesday night and that they can get as fresh as humanly possible.

It was a good day out in the sun although Gresley must be one of the strangest football grounds I have ever been to. The wall behind the goal was odd (as was the ladder on said wall for the ballboy to escape) and the slope in various areas would have the Cycling Velodrome in envy. Having said that it certainly had character, the beer and food was good and the home fans I spoke to very pleasant.

I thought Steve Thames had a good game but as usual the MOM would be difficult to pick. Also should mention that Hare in goal didn’t have much to do but what he did he dealt with well. It will be interesting to see who Carl puts between the sticks on Tuesday. Well done all. UTA

after 4 games in a week i just want to say what a great squad we have to win 2-0 on a warm day and no matter what happens in the next fortnight you’ve got to say we’ve had a great season.UTA.

Totally agree, Jose, Pep and co would be using it as an excuse for losing and their players don’t have jobs!!
