Another 3 points closer to safety! Fantastic result well done all. UTA
Two very good away wins. Great effort by everyone.
On to Coalville who’ve had 4 straight wins inc tonight’s resounding victory against Hednesford.

Agreed GE 2 great away wins - we seem to have our mojo back !
Looks like the FA Trophy tie is going to be a hard one. Great result tonight, well-done lads.

A really cracking result and I think Knutsfordian has it right we seemed to have got our Mojo back and the early season indifference has been replaced as we get both fitter and more together as a unit. UTA
from Halesowen
Halesowen Town 1 Witton Albion 3
Halesowen dropped to the bottom of the table after being outplayed by classy, second-placed Witton.
Once again, Halesowen fell behind to early goals as Albion went 2-0 up within 19 minutes in a fine display of attractive football. The in-form visitors started on the front foot as Prince Haywood struck a 5th minute free-kick past the post and James Foley drove wide after eight minutes in the driving rain.
Lively Witton wide-man Matty Devine caused all sorts of problems for Halesowen throughout the evening with his probing runs. He danced through the home defence in the 16th minute and although his shot was blocked, Will JONES slotted home the rebound with ease to put Witton in the driving seat.
Halesowen’s first chance came from a 17th minute corner sent over by Matthew Hearsey, but Dominic’s Smith header was gathered by goalkeeper Calvin Hare near his post.
It was soon 2-0 in the 19th minute when Asa Charlton was penalised for handball and Steven TAMES smashed home confidently from the penalty spot.
Although Lee Chilton delivered a good 28th minute cross, the Yeltz struggled to pose any real threat up front and were cut up again at the back in the 34th minute, only for Dan Platt to make a fantastic reflex save from Tames at the end of a lightning attack.
Devine skipped down the left once again three minutes into the second half but his cross was hacked clear and Ben Hedley nodded over the bar after 50 minutes as Halesowen continued to be outclassed.
There was brief hope after Jack KELLY fired home to pull a goal back for Halesowen in the 59th minute when Witton failed to clear a corner from the left.
Halesowen’s Smith and Witton’s Rob Hopley found the back of the net again through headers, but both efforts were chalked off for an infringement on the respective goalkeeper.
Witton continued to be superior, if somewhat wasteful in front of goal, as they hit the crossbar after 62 minutes and went close again in the 85th minute when Jones struck wide following good work on the right-wing from Haywood.
But Albion then deservedly wrapped up the three points in the 89th minute after Platt failed to gather a left-wing corner, leaving HAYWOOD to follow up from 12 yards.

Another good performance getting us the 3 points. We are now playing with great desire and can only keep exceeding all expectations with the energy we are showing. Well done to management and players for some fantastic results. UTA
We must be doing brilliantly, 2nd in the Unibond premier league and we get a mention on the inside 3rd back page of the 1874 Northwich Guardian.
In fairness, and you know that is not like me, they are still in the FA Cup and FA Trophy whilst we are out of one and face a stinker of a tie in the other. Once it is just down to league positions I am sure the Guardian will be fairer with their reporting.
WHS.
The FA trophy has no impact on this issue, they have beaten no one to Play Nth Ferriby ! hardly big news ! for us to be challenging and 2nd in the Unibond Prem AFTER PROMOTION is a much bigger achievement, but not for Simmo and the 1874 paper - wont be reading it anymore, unless I find one in the bin. UTA
I’m sure Andy is horrified that he is personally responsible for losing a reader…
Get a grip CJ.
1874 are playing a team from the league above even us in the oldest and most-prestigous cup competition in the world, and you want to deny them column inches because we are in the Evo-Stik Premier, going second after a game that he wasn’t actually at, so can’t write a report based on first hand experience.
A local paper has to cater for all local issues and sporting events, and unfortunately, Andy can’t dedicate all of his time to Witton, as much as you want him to.
If you are that upset over it, speak to Andy when is next covering one of our games
I will stick to my opinion thanks.
Don’t have an opinion Colin, I tried it once they didn’t like it

Read any local newspaper in any town or city in the UK and you will find that the vast majority give the better coverage to that town/city’s biggest and highest ranked football club. That is simply fact.
The Northwich Guardians allegiances have always been with NVFC
for as long as I can remember. What I can’t understand is why are they giving so much coverage to a Winsford team? 1874 only have a connection with Northwich in name only. Have they ever played a home game in Northwich???

I could put up with it when NVFC were the towns biggest club, and had to suffer it for many years, fair enough. But we are now and have been for some years. It is beyond farcical. I wouldn’t mind at all 1874 getting better coverage when in a big FA cup game but they seem to get the back page every week hence why I have also stopped buying the paper.
I too will not be buying the 1874 Guardian rag. Absolutely fed up of seeing that Winsford outfit from the dog and duck league getting more coverage than Northwich’s premier team. What our team are doing to date at this level of football is remarkable and doesn’t get the recognition it so rightly deserves. UTA

Is the Guardian now the Mid Cheshire Guardian or has it gone back to being the Northwich Guardian? As I said I don’t buy it anymore so I don’t know but if it is still the Mid Cheshire Guardian it might make more sense as to why a Winsford club gets the best sports coverage every week. Either way I will never pay a nugget for it again, its free online anyway (if you really want to read it!!!). UTA
Like NVFC it may well be nearing the end.
