Ilkeston FC vs Witton Albion

Full Time Score from The New Manor Ground:

Ilkeston FC 1 Witton Albion 1.

A good away point considering it was 3rd vs 18th.
Sounds like Ilkeston missed a lot of good chances.
In my experience we’ve never done well against 10 men (I rememeber a 0-0 at Bridlington against 9 men).
Nothing like robbing the Robins though with a last gasp equaliser.

Good God that was torture. We were awful today, very lucky to escape with a point.
You never know though it might be a turning point!
Jon Dawson looked Promising though.

Good away point well played lads

They’re saying Nev had an injury on facebook? Hope not.

Yeah he dislocated his shoulder and had it popped back in. He was in a sling on the way back so it’s not looking great!

Well given everything at the club currently playing badly v a top team and getting a scruffy lucky point away then i am happy with that, It may take a little while for us to settle back down after everything including injuries and lack confidence - but if connors can stay fit and cliff plays both at fullbacks then thats good, disapointing to hear of josephs injury that can be 2- 6 weeks depending on the dsiclocation my son does his regular usually pushes it back in on the post and carries on then has about a week of discomfort so hopefully he can be back quickly, Glover is due back also (not sure how long Josh Hancock is out for ? ) so maybe we can start to settle a little but we still need a striker to make a difference, I see Dereece Gardner was on the bench im not sure of his overall quality so need to see him but he wasnt getting into Ilkestons team regularly so we probabaly do need another striker anyway with Tuck and Foster gone now - Wilson, Thompson and Gardner are our options and none are proven yet for me at Witton., See you all Tuesday for another tough one UTA.

I have just got back from two weeks holiday, god it’s all been happening :frowning: I think we are still in a good position considering all that’s gone on, 7 points isn’t to bad as the league has started with everyone beating each other we are only a couple of wins off the playoff spots  I think Wilson will do well once he has a settled partner up top with him

I suppose on the positive side we are lucky to have 7pts it could have been 4 only for the late goals the last 2 Saturdays?

Is that 4bookings now for James? Will his sending off be taken into account if (or when) he gets a 5th booking?

Josh Hancock has a pulled muscle in the sole of his foot, and he says it is very painful even we he just tries to walk. Very difficult to guess a recovery period.

Cant beat a smash and grab

thanks for the link - dont see Kyle taking our pens anymore ha ha, and im really glad there centre forwatrd had his wrong shooting boots on ! see you vs Skem.

Thanks for the posting of these highlights. Several clubs at our level film their games AND post them online. I was wondering why we don’t? Even an end of season compilation DVD, like we had for the promotion season would be much appreciated by many, I’m sure.

Couple of reasons for not doing this as far as I’m aware:

The cost of filming and producing when previously done wasnt cheap (certainly wouldnt make it back on a close season dvd)

The other concern is other teams can see how you line up for free kicks, corners etc and the like - do we want to readily give this info away to any manager watching on the internet?

Watching the Ilkeston highlights it looks like we don’t bother
