Ilkeston FC vs Witton Albion

Yellow card - Danny Andrews for simulation.

Finished 1-1.

Yellow Card - Andy Robertson in stoppage time.

Where on earth did he get seven minutes from?

good point witton

Great point,
its really hard when you are down at the bottom Look at Marine 2-0 up at half time against Curzon
Floodlight failure match abandoned !

Would have taken that at the start, we are getting much harder to beat now and some consistency to selection, bring on Nantwich.

Nantwich drew 1-1 at home, Matlock were beaten at home by Trafford 4-2. Cup heroes Blyth Spartans thrashed Grantham 7-1 away from home. Excellent point for us as Ilkeston haven’t lost at home in a while.

I keep repeating what Shankly said when he was asked for his team, his answer? “Same as last year”. Continuity is what it is all about.

A very good point which could’ve been more had Liam Gibson’s last minute effort not been stopped by the Ilkeston keeper’s boot. Gives the lads a welcome boost and confidence going into Boxing Day’s derby clash with Nantwich.

Decent sign off by our lads prior to Xmas, with a thread bare team we matched a team 4th in the table.
Could have won it too, and certainly cause for optimism going into the crucial Xmas games.

Another massive result yesterday, that point could come in very handy! To go away to a team who are in form, up in the mix and come away with something is absolutely fantastic. UTA

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!

Well done boys, a very good result and an excellent early Christmas present. Keep up the good work on Boxing Day.

It’s poring for our managers Sully who must have been feeling the pressure, all credit to him in taking the pressure getting the players in and finding a shape that works for us ! I think most fans now think that Sully can take us forward and improve further on where we are today, a good and fit Keeper and same for Titch would do us no harm at all.

Totally agree CJ. I thought Tony was totally on the wrong track after the FC United game and I did’nt think he was up to the job. I was totally wrong and would like to apologise to Tony. What he did was listened to what was our constructive critisism of the team and took it on board and has found a method of play that is bringing us results and ensures we compete with other teams. Lets face it our league this season has no outstanding teams in my opinion so we just need to keep it going as we are and hopefully we’ll stay in this league. What we now have is no real stars in our team just hard working lads who do their best and play for one another with a great team spirit.
So well done Tony and CO keep upthe good work and keep ramming it down my throat that I was wrong by getting the results and keeping us in this league come next May!!
Onward and Upward well done lads and Merry Christmas from me and to all at are great club!!

Always like 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 ever since the World Cup in Italy.
