Kendal Town vs Witton Albion

Thought we looked very good again yesterday, and in fairness it could have been a cricket score.
Hard to single anybody out performance wise, the whole team are playing brilliantly at the moment

Today?! What game have you been watching?!

I don’t think we ever really needed to get out of 3rd gear yesterday. 9 points from our opening 4 games is a decent return - and better than at the same stage last year. Looking forward to Saturday now.

don’t know what you’re on about?! ;D

Great result yesterday - we looked awesome in the first half and could have easily been 4 or 5 up (interesting that this was the home supporters view too)! Some of the football coming forward was an absolute joy to watch.

We played well as a team again and I think a consecutive clean sheet and also having no bookings underlines the professionalism. We arguably should have scored more but in fairness Kendal had to have a go at us second half and they battled much more - they looked battered in the first 45 minutes.

As Neil says the support was again immense, to take that many away from home at this level is fantastic. We already now that it is noticed by the players and the opposition so lets keep it going.

Need to approach every game individually and as if it were a cup final. It is hard to keep the momentum going but frankly if we play as well as we have in the last three games we should not lose many this year.

Looking forward to Saturday.

From the Alty website about Cavell, is he a permanent signing or loan?

Manchester-born Cavell Coo joined Alty in early August 2007 after his release by Crewe Alexandra. Cavell is a left-back or midfielder. He made one substitute league appearance for Crewe, against Blackpool, in March 2007. Whilst at Crewe, Cavell also had a loan spell with Woodley Sports. In his youth Cavell was at Fletcher Moss Junior FC in South Manchester where he was coached by Alty’s former Reserves’ boss, Neil Brown

There was conflicting information flying around on Monday. It seems as though we have him initially on loan, but due to sign for us full time later this week.

He looked a decent signing on yesterday’s showing.

Can’t really add much to whats been said already except my brother in law, (an ex footballer who played as high as the Welsh non league) accompanied me to Kendal. He’s been threatening to come and watch MY team for ages to see what I’ve been going on about. Anyway Bryan accompanied me to the match yesterday and was in raptures all the way home about how good Witton were, the fans being well behaved yet vocal, and the nice official people Witton’s and Kendals involved in the game. Bryan has been to anfield a few times in the last couple of years and is a sprightly chap of 70 so remembers what football used to be like when people like Tom Finney and Stan Matthews played. He said its hard to make comparisons but he said how much more enjoyable it was watching football at our level with the skill factor not that far behind so called top football than it was going to the big grounds. He thought it was brilliant that Jim and nigel actually talked to the fans as they were walking off the field and that several Witton fans said hard lines to some of the Kendal players as they weee going off.
He was so enthusiastic that he’s asked if he can come to a home game now even though his nearest team is really Vauxhalls. Apparently some of his mates told him that Witton were better than Vauxhalls anyway. So we have another convert to the cause and in between playing golf I ca see my surviving brother in law accompanying me to some more witton games yet another convert!! AS Bryan siad the only thing he was upset about was the fact Witton should have won by 5 or 6 nil!!

Got to agree with you Stu, sometimes there doesn’t seem to be much thought put into the fixture programme

Coo has been signed permanently on a 12 month deal.

Great performance yesterday, did what was required and got a firm grip on the game straight fom the whistle.

As Robbo mentioned we are now doing better than at this stage last season so things are looking good…

Impressed with the witon support its growing with each and every game so well done to everyone for turning out…

All i can do is to echo the words already said, great display, great support, sat back in the second half, not much opposition. A fantastic squad assembled yet again by Jim, keep going lads
