fcuk the faith!! Nige got one thing right tonight when he came over at full time and said we dont deserve this!
Well we did play a lot better tonight, especially second half.
KTF
Ok folks yep another defeat however for once (and I mean the first time since september) I feel we did enough to deserve something from the game.
1st half could have been worse - the radio wasn’t wrong, I think the pen was missed rather than saved.
Unlike recent weeks however we had sustained pressure in the 2nd half, looked threatening, beat our men, had shots on goal which worked the keeper. I actually enjoyed the 2nd half and didn’t feel the -2 temperatures as much!
Thornley had a more lively match, Thompson looked dangerous when he came on and Thacker also caused a lot of problems.
But sadly no you get zip for a good effort but atleast I feel thats what we put in tonight (well most did anyway).
Hopefully Eastwood have 1 eye on their FA cup win, and the other eye on next weeks 1st round! That game at Ossett is looking massive now however.
I felt that was our best performance since our draw away to Gateshead. I felt gutted for Nige and the players for all their effort they put into tonight with no reward.
Great support tonight!
Keep it up.
Perhaps that performance may pave the way for future performances that could be just as good, if not better?
HOPEFULLY we can start to think about picking up some more points, (if the performance was as good as it sounded) but if we revert back to bad performances then, sadly yesterday will seem like just a one off.
I may be getting a little optimistic, but optimism never harmed anyone!
C’mon Witton!!

Why say that?
Everyone else seems to be pulling positive things away from the match, commenting on the improved performance of the players, and the amount of effort they have put into the match. All you seem to do is look for the negative things (however minor) and scrutinize them, why not at least try and be a little more positive and put less of a downer on the team with (some) of your unfair comments even though some are valid.
Listen Witton Maniac! Where the fcuk were u! Dont u dare tell me what i can and cant say when u didnt even bother to make the trip. Nearly 2 hours there, the same again bak standing in the ice cold. To what, watch another defeat? Kendal stil were unlucky not to have had 4 by half time. And despite us playin the better footy 2nd half. They stil looked more likely to score as they created more clear cut chances
And everyone has been positive after games sayin KTF and all that shte. Where has that got us maniac hey? U and those that didnt bother going showed how much faith u have. The players need a kick up the arse and we need to be on their backs to get a result, not just sit back and go KTF it’ll b ok, bllocks apparantly even Pritch has said we should be on their case more. Last nights performance was ok thats all but saturday wil prob be awful. 8 defeats in a row is a joke. Performance means nothing we need results.
Very Bad first half, Kendal could have been 3-0 up at HT but 2nd half was better as Neil said best half all season really. Should of scored when we hit the post. Didn’t think Kendal looked a great side but they must be doing something right to be in the top 4.
MOM had to be Greg Smith again had a good game and also made some good saves.
Good 40ish Witton fans there braving the cold and trust me it was freezing. Also well done to Nige and also the players for coming over to the fans at full time.
More of the second half performance on Saturday lads.

just because people cant make a game 2hrs drive away on a tuesday evening danny dont mean that they’ve “lost faith”… more like they have work commitments etc … id have loved to have gone to support the lads last night but it just wasnt possible… same as it wasnt possible for you to attend the info meeting…
so apologies danny but i certainly am KTF!
Obviously if people had stuff on fair enough. If it was just a case of work the next day 4 some then i had that so did neil and no doubt more that were there. And i was flat broke my card declined in the garage 4 petrol on the way(long story) and i shouldnt have gone, but i did. But had we been flying high at the top currently am sure it would have been possible for more people to make it. All im sayin is its very easy 4 people to KTF when they can sit comfortably at home tuning in on the radio and not endure the freezing cold, long journey and expenses
Oh and chelle. Reason i wasnt at the info meeting was cos i was rehearsing 4 a play im doing in less than 3 weeks. I was also supposed to be rehearsing for the same play again last night but lied and told them i had to work late so i could go to the match. Another reason im probably not dancing round like this cat goin KTF, KTF, KTF!
danny i wasnt having a go… was just makin a point that ppl might not have finished work early enough to then travel 2hrs to get to the game that was all…i dont mind the long journeys and expenses danny and even the freezin cold, i like to support the team… but when you cant be there you cant be there simple as!
KTF
 i know u werent havin a go thats fair enough.
BELIEVE is the new KTF !
Believe - Nigel is the man for the job
Believe - he will get it right
Believe - we will win on Sat
Believe
Going on that topic then Eli how about the team coming out to “Im a believer” by the Monkees, your era as well.
Superb ME.

KENDAL TOWN 1 WITTON ALBION 0 att. 301
Team: Smith G.; Schwarz, Pritchard, Smith N. (Willis 81), Scott; Wiggins-Thomas (Thompson 71, Linford, Drew, Thornley B.; Skelton (Thaker 63) & Thornley R. Subs not used Dunne & McGaw
Showing four changes from Saturday’s starting line-up Albion emerged with far more credibility from this encounter at the frosty Lakeland Stadium. Pushing for a top three position the home side, playing down the slope, tore into Witton from the off. In the 5th minute Gregg Smith parried the ball away and great positioning by his namesake Neil Smith, on the line, ensured the follow up shot was cleared away.
Witton has several sorties forward but too often errant passes, particularly from the Thornley siblings, ended the attacks. Rod Thornley found good position in the 27th minute but his headed attempt failed to even trouble keeper Newnes. Just after the half-hour mark and following a good Kendal move the ensuing corner kick was delivered into the middle of the box, although there looked to be some impeding going on the ball ran to the right for player-manager Lee Ashcroft to fire home.
Albion came close to equalising three minutes before the break when a Mark Drew free-kick, from a central position 25 yards out, was superbly tipped over his crossbar by David Newnes.
They came even closer on 59 minutes as Dan Skelton, who gave an assured performance throughout, sprang an attempted offside, he drew the keeper before slotting the ball past but agonisingly for him and the hardy following of Wittoners gathered behind the goal the ball rebounded off the base of the left hand upright.
Nigel Deeley introduced Ross Thaker to the proceedings and suddenly Albion were making large inroads down the left flank culminating with Newnes making a diving save to keep Nick Linford’s shot from reaching its target. Lee Thompson was then brought on to hopefully profit from Thaker’s runs but he was unable to turn quick enough on the frosty surface when a good chance arrived.
With a quarter of an hour left on the clock and following two headed interceptions by skipper Brian Pritchard, his third header in a matter of seconds saw the ball quickly played forward by Kendal leaving Neil Smith slightly exposed, unfortunately as he was trying to play the ball away it was intercepted and needed Greg Smith to come out to try and rescue but in so doing so he brought the forward down, getting himself cautioned and conceding a penalty. However Witton were thrown a life-line when Ashcroft struck his kick wide of the right post.
On 84 minutes Thaker again got to the by-line before pulling the ball back but Thompson was totally wayward with his shot. Kendal were desperately clinging on and several of their players were arguing amongst themselves but any hopes of Albion claiming a point were seemingly dashed when with a couple of minutes of normal time remaining Scott Willis, who’d only been on the park for 7 minutes, replacing Neil Smith who’d run himself to a virtual standstill, committed an horrendous challenge that necessitated the victim receiving lengthy treatment that completely stopped the initiative that the visitors had taken up. Thankfully the player recovered and Willis can equally thank himself lucky to only be cautioned by the young looking referee Ben Toner.
Unfortunately this eighth successive reverse now makes it Witton’s worst run of defeats since the Second World War and in summing up, make no mistakes about it, Kendal really should have scored more than their single goal but with Greg Smith again in scintillating form, combined with poor finishing on occasions, the fact they didn’t gave Witton hope. They kept going throughout and therefore can take great heart from this performance.
Trust Chad to come on with a match report and put us all on a downer again.
