It must be hats off yet again to the leg end, Brian Pritchard, who marshalled our back four inspite of the other 3 all playing out of position. He was also taking all the goal kicks, as the keeper was injured before he started.
Although the line-up was 4-3-3, we very rarely saw that formation during the game, as the forwards ran their buts off, tracking back to help the midfield, and sometimes the defence!
Loosing Brad early on in the game was a big blow, and a concern for Saturday. I thought Brodie did extremely well considering his lack of match practice when he came on for Brad, and won the penatlty for us. Steve Fosters kick was well guessed/saved by their keeper, but it begs the question as to whether or not we need to look for another penalty taker, considering his record this season?
With Dylan not showing (not for the first time!), we need Boothy back sooner than later. Unfortunately, talking to him last night, the scan he had last week shows ligament damage. He sees a specialist in the near future, but it could be some time before he returns.
On last nights game - the support was poor - the nearest away ground and some so called fans could’nt be ar*ed going - pathetic ! It’s not as if there was any decent games on TV ![/quote] just because some fans did not attend does in no way deserve a comment like this. I am a long serving wittoner, now living half way across the country, and rarely get to see my beloved club play. This does not mean im a so called fan,and nor any other supporters who were unable to attend last nights match. Eli needs to realise that people have other comitments too,and are still wittoners, the same as him even if they cant attend every match.
I think Eli is meaning those fans that could have attended the game last night but chose not to, mainly on the back of recent performances. If we want to get out of this league then the team are going to rely on our support away from home.
maybe so,but is calling these supporters ‘so called fans’ necessary? I doubt that comments like that are going to make supporters want to go to places kidsgrove on a cold tuesday night, knowing that next time they choose to not attend a game they are going to be labelled a ‘so called fan’, that in my mind is what is (and i quote eli) pathetic.
My Dad couldnt be ar5ed to attend last night, and i’d describe him as pretty pathetic…
If you can’t make a game, then fair play. But no need to take offence over a throw-away comment. Eli is trying to get a rise, well done for falling into his trap.
Now, do feel free to comment on any of the other burning issues on this forum…
3 points was desperately needed last night and we got them so well done the team. I am hoping that once these players knit together we are in for a good run of results.
yes a good 3 points needed, from what i read wasnt a great performance but winning when you dont play well is never a bad thing. Many thanks to the people who post updates on here, which is invaluble to supporters like me, a few hundred miles away!
To sum the game up, not pretty but we probably got the bit of good fortune we had missed against Lairds. Pritch was immense, again, imagine what a player he would be if he got himself fit  (go on Liz, dob me in…).
Good to see Morgan get off the mark, and another club is yet to offer him an extra £10 a week so hopefully he’ll stick around to bag a few more.
Fozzie seems determined to prove that he should stay in the side, and i have seen much worse penalties go in so will not hold that against him. If he feels he wants to pass on the penalty taking duties then that’s up to him, but i like a striker to be confident so if he still feels he can put the next one away then i would be happy for him to carry on taking them.
Credit to Broadhead, he hasn’t let anybody down up to now - let’s hope he keeps it up.
Everyone else mucked in and were rewarded with a hard-fought win.
Scott Carter had a few problems with the TV in the bar, and if Moseley scored i promised to swing from the goal posts - so cheers to Mike for spending more time falling through a gate in the perimeter fence than he did trying to shoot at goal.
lol am i offended?? i doubt it. Imo comments like that arent helpful, im not offended, just there are different ways to get a rise out of people, especially when you all want the same thing, success for our great club.
Echo much of what has been said not a great display but very gutsy and plenty of effort in closing the play down and to get 3 points was massive so not going to complain, liked Mcallister at right back, Heler had a very good game imo and yes pritch was pritch immense in the kindest sense lol, We really do need now to go on and get the next 6 points against lowly teams because we do need to beat teams that we should, after that this league unbelievably is still wide open and we could be in the race but we need to get consistent.
It would be good to have an update on injuries if any one is in the know ? lets hope we have a full squad soon to aid us in out chase for the title.
