Oh well just proves this league is going to be no walkover and we have a bit to do yet ? I think we possibly need to add a couple of players to the 11 who can really add something like pace and goals we need to add quality to the high work rate we give, over time of course the side may gel further and we become tougher to beat as a unit, didn’t expect to stay top to be honest though. UTA
Could have come away with a point or more though, this was an entertaining game with plenty of openings created and the home keeper was probably their man of the match.
Turning point if anything was their second goal, a quickly taken free kick not well defended, but I saw enough to reassure me that we can do well at this level.
Good hopefully just need a bit more time then UTA
Couldn’t make it today so can’t comment on performance but a previous post sounds positive. Saw today as the first real test for the new team and was hoping for a draw but never mind - sounds as though that could have happened on another day.
Big game Tuesday to see how the lads react to today’s defeat. UTA
Glad to see no knee-jerk reaction to today’s result on here, league is not won after 3 games. Was a close match, City keeper made two good saves at 0-0 which may have put us on top had shots gone in. Good to see management bringing on subs to try and turn it around. Couple of small criticisms, first touch up front could have been better and too many off target headers on goal. I spilled gravy down my shirt, so I must do better also.
Interesting fact from yesterday’s game, Lee Cropper’s injury time goal was the 1000th league goal which Witton have scored away from home since joining the NPL in 1979. The milestone has taken 699 away NPL games.
think we all understand with almost a brand new side it’s going to take time

Shame Witton couldn’t win would have been great to see both true Northwich clubs at the top battling it out on Derby day.
