Andy, we may be discussing Vics but it doesn’t stop us supporting Witton. In fact I think the Vics thing has helped in a strange way, we have seen what can happen if you don’t look after your club and its’ finances and we don’t want it happening here. I will deliver flyers by the way. Off to Birmingham this weekend but I will be at the next home game God willing. (The wife has given up trying to stop me!)

Asking a group who probably already donate to various Witton causes to increase donations is always going to fall flat, however if you ask them to help support aproject or initiative you will always get a better response which is Why I thought a one one effort to support pritch in an end of season promotion push would be supported by passionate wittoners as the floodlight campaign was and if we wanted to improve the pitch drainage in the bad areas I bet we could get support- donations for that, being interested in v**s plight because it has an impact on us does not detract from my passion for Witton so for me carry on laughing sorry talking about them but support the albs in every form you can.
Totally agree with the previous comments from Andy, Left Pegger + also Prich`s comments from last Saturdays programme. We need to concentrate on OUR club and not be distracted with the goings on over there!
UTA!!!
I really cannot understand why anyone is bothered that some of us are showing a real interest in what is going on over the canal. How many Wittoners are keen City/United. Liverpool/Everton fans? They will show interest in their Premier League team and the local opposition, it doesn’t detract their interest in their own Premier League team and it doesn’t detract their interest in Witton/Vics. I am a keen Wittoner, I support Spurs. Sale, Warrington and Lancashire; I dislike United, Leicester, St. Helens and Yorkshire, where is the problem? Come on the Albs, Onwards and Upwards!! (Actually I HATE Vics and United!!)

Thought police??? Now thats pathetic MM its that old forum chestnut if you dare to put your own thoughts on a forum that aren’t the same as others you’re deemed to be anti public speech-bizarre and contradictory at the same time.
In case my original post has been misinterpreted let me make it clear I am a Wittoner from birth and naturally that means that what happens in the negative form to Vics is all good BUT that doesn’t mean that it fills my every waking hour and equally and more importantly it doesn’t put one extra penny into our coffers and money as always is tight.
My point was far better to be positive about Witton than be negative about Vics, and even when they lose the ground etc there will always be a team either phoenix or reformed bearing a similar name to them. To paraphrase ‘rumours of their death are greatly exaggerated’
if it turns out the land over the canal is only for sport and leisure use,(though i know this has been got round many times)there may be hope for them yet.lets be honest,if they fell into a viper pit theyd come up wearing snake skin shoes!
Point taken Chad, and I do apologise! Just that people surely have a right to discuss what they like. This forum is ever so quiet generally and a thread about whether we should let that green slime infect our “swamp” again is surely a legitimate topic?
