UTA

Grantham equalise against Frickley then score again 2-1 to the Gingerbreads

Marine finished 1-1

Grantham score last minute winner

STATTO CHECK:

Albion’s win chalked up our 600th victory in the Northern Premier League in the 1,343 matches played since being promoted from the Cheshire County League in 1979.

Just spoken to Neil, 99% certain it was Rob Bodie who scored - a header from a corner.

only you phil would know that bowdown

A fine win there and well done to all!! The Chorley Droyslden score…HOW ON EARTH DID WE LOSE AGAINST THE BLOODS FFS!

Great battling result today.

Ben damaged his groin early on in the match which required a major re-shuffle. Dawes came on as substitute and replaced Ali Brown at left back. Ali Brown moved to right back, and Gards moved to the centre of defence to join Rob Bodie. To be honest, I was a bit worried about set pieces following Ben’s loss, but my worries were unfounded. Except for a glaring miss when their No 10 blazed over the bar from a yard out just after Bodie scored, our goal was otherwise never trouble, albeit there was lots of pressure.

Dawes was soon replaced after he came on, thanks to one of several horror tackles by their No 9. When Dawes came off (to be replaced by Breezey), he had a lump on his left ankle the size of a cricket ball. Ali switched back to the left, and I think Breezey had one of his best games in a Witton shirt, playing at right back.

Titch and Scott ran their legs into the ground keeping Matlocks defence honest, and the midfield where first to the ball time after time.

However my MOM’s were Rob Bodie and Anthony Gardner who kept control of their 9 and 10, who were both very lively(sometimes too lively).

Proud to be a Wittonner after that performance against a team that would have been 16 points above us had the result gone the other way.

Nice to see Mark and Brian with massive smiles on their faces when the final whistle went.

Fab battling result, well done to all. Can’t wait for the next 2 home games…

Great day out, great result! Proud to be a Wittoner today and a win on Tues will be enough IMO
Whitby Weekender next season anyone?
UTA

Six wins from the last 11 games following today’s result. The lads certainly found their form at the right time.

a gutsy performance from witton today saw us come away with all 3 points.every player gave their all to get the result, so well done boys. how their no 9 only managed to get i yellow is surprising to say the least. every player was up for it and did us fans proud. roll on tuesday when we hopefully will get the 3 points that will surely see us safe. so come on you wittoners get down there and really make some noise.

Still in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday but back for the game on Saturday. Credit the lads for getting over the shock of losing at Droylsden and coming back so strongly.
WHS.

Credit to Pritch for turning the season around, and to the Chairman for not making the kind of knee-jerk decisions you see so often in professional football.

Of course Titch has made a huge difference, but i think Scott Bakkor has been the unsung hero of recent weeks.

Well done to all.

A win tomorrow night would be a significant step towards confirmed safety.

When the dust has settled, there will be huge positives to take from this season in the experience Pritch and his coaching staff will have have gained over the last 9 or 10 months.

Great result, well done everone.

Easy to see how you get confused between Bodie and Titch, they’re like twins!

Robbo can’t believe it I totally (well almost) agree with your post.
This has been a forgettable season and I for one can’t wait for it to end.
However the work done behind the scenes by both football management, the directors, Yes the directors, the handful of volunteers and the patience of suppliers has been immense.
The season may have nearly staggered to a conclusion but bills, maintenance, etc still carry on through out the close season,
I will no doubt bore the living daylights out of some during the summer months pleading for volunteer 's and this and that.
I do so because I have our club at heart,
Your club always need help 12 months a year.
