2 poor sides in a game that was dire from start to finish!
Matlocks forum makes interesting reading with a couple of people saying yesterday’s result was the biggest in recent history!
Reality check needed as Matlock are not now a side who will get out of relegation trouble they just happened to play a piss poor Witton team who created 1 opportunity all game.
Despite the fighting side at home to Buxton last week this was very similar to the 3-0 defeat at Stourbridge a couple of weeks ago which is worrying as we hardly created a chance in that game too.
I spoke with an 1874 fan yesterday morning who said it was a relegation 6 pointer and i laughed and said we will easily finish mid table, now im beggining to think we are in deep trouble especially with leaders Skelmersdale to come on Saturday
Did we play 4 4 2 or 3 5 2, how did we line the players up who played where ? For me we cannot play 4 at the back we seem rubbish when we try that, heard Zak played at the back but not sure of others.

I am not sure whether a traditional system was used, try to hoof to the furthest opponent, is that a modern system
because honestly that is the only thing I saw yesterday. 
I can’t comment on yesterday’s game coz I was working but I still think we’ll stay up.
We’re not going to go on a lengthy unbeaten run but we’ll win some and get the odd draw here and there and that’ll be enough.

Fair play to Sully for coming on to the supporters coach holding his hands up and apologising to the supporters for how bad we were. He was as hurt as much as the supporters were by such a poor performance. Despite the dross yesterday I think we’ll be ok, just. Keep the faith.UTA

Loving the positivity when we are in a difficult position WHS :S
I think WHS has it bang on! We’re not crap at all but we’re definitely inconsistent!
What I find strange is that no one ever claims we are a great footballing team, we seem to win by giving 100% yet the main complaint when we lose is usually that there was a lack of effort. Difficult to explain unless the players simply “Run out of steam” for some games. As for being positive, I firmly believe that the team is more than capable of a mid table place, but it has to be by giving 100% in every game.

Thanks for master class in tactics ME lol, what I was getting at that without Ben and Shaw at the back we would have been changed a lot at the back and if we went 4 at the back I think we would have been even worse so I’m not surprised looking at the 11 a midfield 2 with what we have would not give the back a lot of cover, we may have played 5 at the back and just played rubbish !
