Both Mickleover goals came from leading scorer Alex Steadman. He and fellow striker Karl Ashton have scored over 40 goals between them. They’re in the midst of a great run but where would they be without their contribution.
Not surprised we got beat considering half the players have cleared off, greedy gits its disgusting they were happy taking the money pure greed no loyalty at all, well done to the lads that have stayed i totally respect u guys.
struggling find out many other scores

stamford 2 belper 1 latest
unlucky result lads.Heads up
We,re 8th now cause leek won, belper lost, chasetown & sheffeild both won & kidsgrove drew 1-1 I think!

By my reckoning, everyone bar Foster was still available today?
No disgrace in losing there, so also no need to make weak excuses either.
Beaten by a team equipped to get out of this league - big goalkeeper and defenders who get the ball up quick to the frontmen who bring 2 quick wingers into play and are supported by half decent midfield players. They are full of confidence due to their unbeaten run and we could not have argued if we were 3 down at half-time. That said we should have scored just before they did and a superb goal from Luke Powell, who looked far more effective when moved to the left, gave us a glimmer of snatching a point.
If this was Broadhead and Browns last game and with Pritch getting injured again also Ruffer suffering from a supposed broken arm then the play-offs are looking further and further away tonight.
Forget to mention to the referee Sarah - big improvement on the Matlock game
Have to say didnt expect much there, but sounds like we gave it a go, with the other results and all the other teams having games in hand and our squad falling apart ? it is not looking good for promotion omg another season in this bum league, still lets keep the faith and hope for a miracle.
Not a huge surprise to be beaten at Mickleover, you just have to look at the run they are on to judge the difficulty of this fixture. Eli’s comments are interesting and only point to the fact that you have to build sides to get out of these lower leagues, often not based on footballing ability to physical presence and athletic ability. Flare players end up being snapped up by higher league clubs too!
We’re still in with an outside chance but the departure and absence of key players only makes it harder week by week.
Not over till the flat lady sings and all that, but I do think we need to start planning for life in this division next season. For starters let’s see some summer trials for potential young players. How about a witton sponsored amateur local football tournament? This would be a good chance for the manager and coaching staff to see what local talent could be found on our doorstep?
Manager’s name Rabbit ?
We have to keep the current situation in perspective. The reason we are losing players now is becvause we have not been good enough over the course of the season. We are suffering now for the slips ups early in the season. Too many points lost at home have resulted in reduced attendances, which have left us in a difficult financial position. The result of this is that we are now losing players. Nothing left to play for, and no financial incentive to stick around.
Had we been in a solid position in the league then we would still have a squad to finish the job in hand.
The deed should have been done at Christmas time !
Why on earth was he given a 2 year contract-big mistake!!!
Mickleover deserved the win today, but we didn’t expect much today anyway. That said, they are beatable when we take them on at WP. One of our main problems is that we do not draw games. I bet if you looked at the amount of league draws in the last 2 years it is in single figures. Those single points are invaluable at the end of the season.
Why have a manager at all, just sack him after every game we lose, let the fans scout the players-pick the team-have the contacts, Mickelover are on a fantastic run and they have a pair of strikers who have scored 40 between them its absolutely no disgrace to lose there we are not entitled to automatic promotion from this feckin awful league get a ******* grip!
Losing today isn’t the problem -it’s other results that have got us in this mess! Can’t believe Kidsgrove are 2nd!-we battered them twice.

Marston Mauler we all have opinions and to be honest Mickleovers home form i didnt expect us to get anything at all so wasnt dissapointed but the fact is Finley should never have been hired as manager of Witton Albion
His target last year was to keep us up which wasnt achieved
His target this year was to bounce straight back up which isnt going to be achieved
He hasnt got the changing room as several players have told me that they dont listen to him
He is useless, disrespectful and the major point is he is ruining OUR team that we love how the F*** can you seriously expect people to back him. And how the **** do you still back him what has he done for OUR club
Fair points, I was certainly taken aback when GF was taken on, I just feel that calling for the manager’s head whenever things go wrong is counterproductive. Bloody frustrating being in this wretched poxy league when we are being run right, within our means, and others are getting away with murder!!!
There was 5 players missing today not just 1 as on previous post, grundy, heller, foster, tandy & ruffer were all missing for different reasons. We shud b all sticking together in troubled times not coming on here moaning about the manager, who else would u get with no money its not easy being a manager when u have got some players demanding more money, then u have got other teams tapping our players up for an extra ten pound a week. if u want to get out of this league u need a big squad something we have,nt had all season, due to money. how many teams go down to the next league & come straight back up again not many with no money i bet, whos to blame for this all the so called witton fans that have,nt been coming this season, none of us like it in this poxy league but at the end of the day if u dont come & support your team then this is where we,ll b staying untill we get some financial support.
