Mossley vs Witton Albion.

I hope not. What a mess we’re in .veryangry

61 minutes - Shot from Jay Matthews goes over the top.

Carl Macauley is there tonight but doesn’t take over officially until Thursday.

Don’t think he knows what he’s let himself in for. An under performing team and fans that don’t want him here. Welcome to Witton Carl, let’s hope you can perform miracles cuz I think we’re gonna need one

Last two away games, nil points, scored nil, conceded 11 :frowning: Good luck Carl! UTA

Where were they tonight then?

Not a goodnight, which started with the horrendous tanker crash on the M56. I set off at 17:50, and didn’t arrive at the game until 20:20, missing the 1st goal but got there to witness the sending off of Tom Schofield. Danny Andrews and Gary Roberts were also held up by the M56 closure, and as such couldn’t be included in the starting lineup.

When we went down to 10 men, I thought we played very well, and it was against the run of play when a miss understanding between our very young keeper and our last defender resulted in a tap in.

Playing with just 10 men showed its toll in the 2nd half, and to be honest, we did well to keep it down to just 2 more goals.

A grim night at Mossley, horrible place & horrible team, we were told Roberts , Baker and Chadwick had effectively gone, Danny and Roberts missed the start due to traffic, Mossely were not good but we had a weak team out and Tom Schofield committed suicide for the team with a long late lunge that looked a red card from 80 metres away, Game over. We played some good football but no end product and tired eventually. Carl was there watching and he has a big job to do , we need at least 5 players to improve the first 11 PDQ or we will be struggling, I nhope he has the contacts. UTA

Witton Albion Football Club, set up for defeat last night unfortunately. that to me is fundamentally not good enough!

When part of the caretaker manager duo , and on paper a car full of our more experienced players (steering away from saying better i’ll leave that to others peoples opinion). informs everyone from the moment the M56 crash and subsequent closure happened , that we would struggle to get there for K.O if not at all.
we should of had the K.O off delayed through any means necessary (Runcorn vs Lairds K.O @ 9.15pm!), as far as i’m concerned every point is vital, agreeing to start the game not prepared and without players that were due to start is a car crash waiting to happen.
in the end myself and the lads did well to get there for 8.15pm by any means and route available , by then the team was unfortunately 1 down and reduced to 10 men (harshly I might add).
All credit to the players last night every single one of them kept going and gave 100%, at times playing some very good football against a poor Moseley side which made the defeat and loss of points even harder to take.
I like a lot of others feel Mr Pritchard would of been the better more stable route to go down (this doesn’t mean it would of worked just as good 2nd time round though), but Mr Mcauley deserves everyone’s backing and leave judgement until he has stamped his own identity on the team and club, its wrong to presume anything at the this point.
after having the honour and fantastic opportunity to be back involved with the club at close quarters recently, its clear there is a big job to be done and they need time to build the club back to where it should be both on and off the pitch, this will mean the club needs the fans more than ever.
there is quality in the dressing room, they require the right guidance , education and the right blend of new additions around the nucleus that we have.

Look Forward to coming down to a few games when we are shooting up the table

UTA !!
