Where was John Dawson today? If fit he should have at least made the bench. If Schofield is fit he should be starting and if he isn’t then Dawson should be on the bench. What is going on???
Don’t 100% quote me on this but I believe Tom is injured and Jon definitely had a personal issue to attend to.
Just to add to Neil’s post. I’ve been assisting Jamie with some of the website content and have started writing match previews for games so I do pick up little things to be included in them. There does seem to be some concern regarding Tom Schofield and so I was a bit surprised to see him on the bench. I was also just as surprised not to see Jon Dawson’s name there but obviously for a different reason.
Sorry but I don’t agree with abusive comments towards the Goalkeeper. Andy has got us, before the weekend, in a position to have already beat the relegation door trap.
Tony is still the best man for the job and calling for his head now will get us nowhere fast!
Yeah he has done well this season in fairness. Frustration at stupidity but he wasn’t the only one at fault yesterday.
Had 24 hours to calm down now but still annoyed at how poor we have been this weekend, 2 games against sides who were below us at 3pm Saturday and both have deservedly beaten us with hardly a wimper of a shot from us in either game.
I came on here after the Whitby game and defended the team but probably had blinkers on in truth as yesterday proved we dont have the stomach for a relegation dogfight right now.
With the next 3 games against teams in the top 5 i cant see us getting another point!
Stamford produced a 4 -1 victory at Grantham and when we meet them on the final day i know who my moneys on to win!
I spoke to a Wittoner today who said he was suprised by the lack of Boo’s at full time yesterday, i told him the reason was most Wittoners were no longer in the ground at full time thats why!
I too was very quick to defend on Saturday but yesterday was bitterly disappointing.
Lets look at the run in though.
Us - We’ve got it all to do, league leaders on Saturday, Play off hopefuls two games after that and relegation candidates on the last day. Lets hope Ashton have secured their home play off place by the time we play them (like last season).
Stamford - Rubbish home form, much better away form but their only away game is FCUM, where FC can win the title…
Frickley - away to already relegated Trafford and Belper, but also away to Rammy who could get sucked back in with the sheer number of games they have to play. Home to Curzon on last day who may be fighting off Blyth.
Marine - Home to Belper and Curzon, and away to Stourbridge and difficult last day v Blyth.
Rammy and Matlock are yet to play each other, Matlock still got Blyth.
Still everything to play for and wouldn’t it be the Witton way for us to go and do FC on Saturday?!
Got to keep positive
Just gutted at how we have let ourselves be dragged back so deepinto the relegation battle, we looked to have turned a corner yes we weren’t playing good football but we were picking up points, really fear for our safety because even the most positive person in the world would struggle to see us getting anything on Saturday, not having witnessed what they did to us away from home
We have to stay up simple as, were what Harris said at that fans forum, but what he didn’t say other than relegation be unquestionable was what the impact would be?
But 4 games left 12 points to play for who knows…
If we can halt this current form and pick up a draw and a win out of the last 4 games we will probably stay up if however we play with the same form and lack of commitment over the last 2 games we could easily lose all 4 ! if Sully has got anything really to offer it’s now we need him to show it and get the team set up to be hard to beat never mind trying to be entertaining and odd shapes 3 ugly draws out of the last 4 games would probably do me.
Can anyone explain why Sullivan decided to play Porter in nets at Ashton Utd where the game was abandoned. Robertson was in a rich vein of form at that time and in a crucial game Sullivan decided to change keepers with Robertson demoted to the bench. His form since that day has been questionable to say the least. Was Robertson injured??? Regretfully I cannot see us winning again this season something has gone wrong, the effort and commitment is no longer there. I do hope I am wrong.
Robertson was unavailable for the Ashton game. Think he was named on bench but not there. Still, at least Porter had a clean sheet at the point of abandonment.
Dawson been unavailable on Monday was again out of the managements control. I’m sure if he was he would have been on the left rather than Corbett.
Thanks for that and your quite correct he was named on the bench. No problems with Porter just looking for reasons behind recent schoolboy errors.
