Hear hear Robbo, very well said indeed.
We are not probably, but the best club in Cheshire.
So
COME ON WITTON.:cheer:
Well said Robbo.
The season ain’t over yet!
Ive just been on thev Leek fans forum , its not going to be easy for Fleetwood , Its a bad place to try and get a win at best of times, but they are watching there backs as it is so close at the bottom half . They will be going for a win no problem. Leeks current record is good too, and not bad goal tally. I really feel they will get a result tonight. Then we can show our killer instinct on Saturday.
Just a note to point out, look at Telford last year, we caught them over took them, then they get pipped by Burscough for the title beaten on their home ground by them last day of season , then it came good for them in the play offs, and 12 months on?? 2nd on the verge of Conference football. funny old game indeed.
Very well said robbo! And also i thought Fleetwood had two games left!!!??? not just leek town? Even if they do beat Leek Town tonight which i very much hope that they dont! they still have to play frickley! Yes it will be at home and yes frickley have ‘bugger all’ to play for, but wateva says that any game is a walkover in football when 11 are playing 11, fleetwood will still have to beat the 11 frickley players put out in front of them and its not just leek that can take points of fleetwood! Come on Witton!
Always thought the opposite sex knew nothing about football:laugh:
Well said Robbo your obviously so used to doing Performance developement plans!! I agree totally with what your saying and like Joanne I’m frustrated that our fantastic season might mean that we fail to go up. I would not want us to play kick and rush all the time but only in games where no other way will work and thats probably the only thing we need to work on. Other than that we are a fantastic incredible team.I’m only talking about 3 or 4 matches this season where we could have perhaps taken more points if we’d been a bit more direct and a little more agrressive and closed down the opposition a bit more quickly. C’mon Leek
I understand what you are saying Mona, but we have a team of ‘footballers’ who don’t find it within their nature to play a ‘kick and rush’ style of play. To bring in 3 or 4 players capable of playing in this style would mean letting go of 3 or 4 of our current squad.
Would you sacrifice Warlow, Brown, and Peers for 3 big bruisers?!
If you look at the league table, although Frickley are 11th, They only have 45 points and are still in the relegation dog-fight and will need to get something at Fleetwood to feel safe. It’s not over yet!
No not advocating that Robbo and I respect your views because your fiercly loyal and generally spot on with your analysis. We already have one player on the books who is unfortunately injured but plays with what I call physical commitment, and above all impact. Kearns is’nt a big bruiser he’s a very good player in his own right but like Pritch if you’ve got your backs to the wall its this type of all action physically strong player that will rub off on others when the going is a little tougher. I think we probably need one player in this mould who can play in a more forward position and be a little different if things don’t work with Rod and Adam. These two lads run their hearts out for us and are affective in the vast majority of games, but sometimes like Saturday when the ball is crossed into the box you need someone to win it in the air or on the deck. The last bloke who used to do that for us was Paul Hennin a few years back and its just something a little different we could try but not in every game.
No way I’m knockin anybody in this its just my own thoughts. I know Jim likes to play it his way and who can argue with the success and entertainment we’ve had I would n’t swap it. Its just on very rare occassions we do need a boost in the Physical department when things don’t go our way either because the pitch is sub standard or the weather is inclement!
Still hoping Leek are in a determined mood and can give us a big boost tonight by at least drawing. I’m sure we will come good at home on Saturday particularly now the weather is bucking up and our pitch will be ok!
To all the doubters and critics - get a grip!
We have improved significantly since last year and its not over yet.
If we do end up in the play offs so be it, it will be to a team that have won their last 8(?) consecutive games and the difference will be a point. Teams at this level are going to play below par occasionally. We are not full time and we play and pay within a budget.
Disappointment hurts - sometimes too much - but better this than mid table pain free existence.
Get over yourselves, support the team and lets ee what happens
extremely well said knutsfordian! Come on witton!
its not all doom and gloom if we go up through the playoffs just look at telford hope that we can do the same if it goes to the playoffs
Knutsfordian, excellent post… read and digest everyone this man talks sense!
sorry ‘man’ or ‘woman’
