Going back to the initial subject, well done to the Guardian for fitting us on the back page. Quite rightly Northwich Rugby Club dominates the back page, but their is a snippet previewing the Telford game.
The Northwich Guardian is a "FOR PROFIT" company and needs to sell papers, I think the boycott by Albion supporters is beginning to hurt. If we are top come next Wednesday I am sure we will be on the back page unless Mr. Connett has some interesting news on his possible sale of Vics or maybe he will even agree to talk to his supporters, now that will be a first and deserve massive coverage.
WHS.
Credit where its due, have to say the Guardian’s coverage over the last 6 weeks or so has shown a remarkable change.
The MM article and end of season coverage was of the level it should ALWAYS be.
I think they lost points by printing Benny’s letter… ;)[br]Posted on: June 08, 2007, 01:28:39 PM
It’s a shame today to see that Witton’s biggest ever sponsorship deal gets deemed as less significant than crown green bowling (no offense to any bowlers out there ), but Vics signing a new player gets massive back page coverage. Is he a major international or something of equal importance?? I would say Dean Crowe is a more significant signing.
At the end of the day the Guardian is the Guardian and they are always going to be bullied by Connett and his cronies. Pathetic but true.
Atleast we were in it though and the sponsor got a colour pic etc, admittedly it was further inside the papers but a lot bigger than the fact the rentboys have extended their season ticket deadline again! Are they struggling to get takes maybe???/
