Great thats cheered me up after a pretty rotten week, been real busy misseed the game v Trafford so the good news from osset was very well recieved, keep it going lads any team news ?

Normal team, except Frosty replaced Titch (whose loan deal has finished), and Frazier Ablett replaced Foulkesy (who was unavailable).

I believe we hope to resign Titch in 7 days time, for the rest of the season.

Big worry was the head injury to Ben Harrison, just before half time. He did come back on, but during the break, it was obvious he had severe concusion, as he felt very sick, and didn’t know what score it was. He had to be helped out of his kit before being taken to hospital for a check-up. I imagine he will not be able to play on Tuesday.

I didn’t see this game but I suffered the Trafford game so I venture to suggest that the absence of Foulkes made a big difference allowing Macca to play his central role at which he excels.
Frosty is a good option in the absence of Titch.
I hope that Ben is ok but at least we had a promising youngster to come on to replace him.

Enjoyed a great day out Saturday.Cracking 4 hours on the East Lancs Railway first with a cracking breakfast at Ramsbottom, (geniune Black Pudding!!),and 8 engines in steam!! Back on the motorway at 1:30pm and up to Ossett to enjoy us winning. All in all a cracking day for me!! What impressed me about us on Saturday was our work rate which was not too evident against Trafford. I think our midfield looked a whole lot better with Joe O’Sullivan much busier in midfield and ably supporting Macca, and young Ablett doing really well on the Right wing. I think these lads are both well worth persisting with as our team was much better balanced.I think against better teams young Ablett would just need to improve his tackling back and helping out the defence but he did really well especially at taking on and beating players. Glad for Frosty who scored a cracker and the “young lad” in tight shorts who replaced Ben in the 2nd half looked good!!
So well done to ALL the lads we just need to put in displays like this for the remaining matches with the great workrate and committment and who knows someone else might slip up and we could get into the play offs. Certainly no point in giving up because you never know with football!! There is something to build on here for next season anyway and I appeal to all stay away Wittoners to get back into the habit of turning up for home matches. At the moment I find it difficult to make some away games but I do try hard to get to home games and its a crying shame that gates are down to the low 2oo’s when we were getting near 300. Come on you fans who’d rather sit in front of telee or take the Mrs shopping on a Saturday!! In the words of Lord Kitchener “YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU” and never more so than now with the financial squeeze hitting all Non league teams. Even if its just paying your £8.50 to watch the game it all helps and might get our budget up a bit.

Nice win on saturday, well done. Will be up with Grandson +son-in-law for saturday,s game
