Very spirited performance tonight and I didn’t think they were any better than us just got the breaks ( 1st and 3 rd goals). They didn’t play any football at all and to be honest there not likely to playing on that surface, long ball was all they had. Thought we looked better when shenan went into midfield, gutted is not the word. Fantastic support and everybody at the club should be proud.

Decided to play it on saturday now!!!
Poor (I’m being kind) playing surface made it very difficult to play any sort of passing game, but I felt we could have adapted better at the back. I think it’s fair to say not everyone was at the top of their game last night, though of course not through lack of effort. And the ref had a significant influence on the game through his actions and in particular his lack of actions!
And after the two games against FC United I’ve seen this season, I have one big question. Are FC United allowed to play ‘Goalie when needed’, ‘Rush goalies’ or whatever you want to call it in every game, or just against Witton?
Great effort this season, no one to fear next year.
Firstly, on the night FC Utd were the better team and deserved their win, good luck to them in the final. I was confident that we would win last night after the previous encouters with FC but they were a better, more organised team last night so fair play to them.
We didnt play our best, the effort was 100% but it just didnt go for us after a dodgy start. At 2-1 i did think we would go on to equalise but it wasnt to be.
So proud of the lads and the club as a whole we have had a great season with some great memories and look forward to having a go at winning the league next season.
Massive thanks to Mark Harris, Pritch, Mose, Nige, Dave and the lads for a fantastic effort, you have done us proud :clap
First reaction is disappointment but there will be none more disappointed than Pritch and his entire team.
But when all’s said and done we were second favourites to go down before a ball was kicked and we finished 4th.
We finished highest out of the 4 promoted clubs. (The ones from Div 1 South were way behind Div 1 North).
We have a great platform to push on next season. Hopefully we can keep the squad together.

Don’t accept defeat easily but so proud of Pritch and his management team, the officials of the club and the players for the season we have just experienced.
I would have taken staying in the division, a top ten finish would have been massive, but to finish fourth in our first season back with a team that has remained unchanged (bar Titch) is frankly unbelievable.
Well done one and all, without being negative my ambitions next year will be the same as this year!

A great season with very few downs, a tremendous achievement for all parties. No complaints about last night, and let’s face it, with a fan base as big as FCUM you deserve Blue Square football - although if that crowd was really around 2,500 then I’m a currant bun… Still, we’ll miss them next season for the atmosphere and the wonga.
I thought Marc and Ben were immense last night, but we started slowly (again) and they had 2 or 3 players whose pace we couldn’t handle. And yet, they were the ones flagging until their penalty, which is tribute again to our fitness and preps.
Most of the additions to the squad have been real assets this season, so we start the next one in a strong position.
Any chance of getting Titch back? That’s the kind of tricky selection headache that I could handle - I can’t see Fozzy, Tucker and the mighty atom all fitting in…
Roll on August.

A huge thanks to all at witton for what has been a truly unforgettable season, i didn’t want it to end. The main priority has got to be keeping hold of the squad so we can give it a good crack at promotion next year.Very very proud to be a part of this amazing club.

a gutsy and spirited performance from witton, but the management and players have done us proud this season. i just hope that we can keep these players for next season, cos what they have achieved is phenominal. they have done us proud over the last two seasons. we have got something to build on for a push for the title next season. so from me a big thank you to the management and players, also to our groundstaff for giving us a surface that induces good football, unlike bury’s bumpy grassless surface. also a big thanks to mark harriss, who has steadied witton and put them on a firm base for the future. good luck mark and thanks for everything.

Congratulations, not commiserations!
It’s been an absolutely wonderful season, and we couldn’t have hoped for anything more back in August. As mentioned, most of us would have excepted survival in our first year back. Our 4th-placed finish is the result of a gargantuan effort from the players, who have given everything.
Fantastic support at Gigg Lane too, the 341 away supporters made a hell of a racket, none more so than at the end of the match. Our travelling fans have been brilliant all year, and I’d bet that only FCUM themselves have taken a larger average away with them.
I’m extremely proud of our achievements this season, and feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a great club.

Echo all on here what a great season its been beyond expectations, of course we were not at our best in the semi and FCU deserved the win playing there physical style on a poor pitch aided by a poor referee we struggled, like rabbit i cannot like the club FC UTD ! the more I see of them I like them less and less what on earth are they meant to be ? And a few horrible fans to boot, lets look forward to next season a close season of rumours of transfers and gossip first though UTA
