I would like to personally congratulate Mark on the terrific job he has done regards the new programme design and content. We need to remember folks that like lots of activities and input at the club that this requires a lot of voluntary work and the results Mark has achieved are excellent.
With two home games in 5 days the amount of work involved in this is huge and it makes the result even more impressive. The articles and increased picture content are excellent. When you look at where we were (without knocking those that had worked hard in the past), the new programme is a big leap forward. If you have not bought a copy yet then please do so as the effort put in deserves it. As we have said previously we need to compete not just on the pitch but in every other area as well. This programme is now a rival to any other in this league.
Well done Mark
PS. Apologies that due to working away this week I could not get the page through to Mark in time, not that given the rest of the content you would miss my ramblings very much!!!
Would just like to point out that it is not just my hard work, credit should also go to Chad, Keith, Jim, Steve, Derek and yourself for your excellent contributions; i’m just putting them all together!
Still some ‘teething troubles’ to iron out and although i wasn’t totally happy with either of the first two editions i don’t think we’re too far off a decent job.
The last weeks been a steep learning curve i can tell you!
Just wanted to add my cogratulations on the new programme both issues I have bought have been excellent, lots to read and loads of great pics etc. Well done to all concerned, another small step forward in taking Witton Albion upwards.
Would like to add my comments on the programme this season…as the Rabbit says, without knocking previous efforts, this season has seen a massive improvement. More pics, more info about opposing teams, and most importantly more comment on our own situation. Congratulations to all concerned.
PS Wincham Rabbit’s page promises to be very entertaining, keep it up
"Small Club like Witton" eh. We won this match 3-2 when Wigan Athletic maybe were even a smaller club at the time.
I’ve actually got Albion home programmes from further back ranging 1927 - 1931 but none of them are against nowadays so called Big clubs. eg Winsford, Middlewich, Sandbach, Congleton oh! and Northwich.
afternoon all it’s my first post, i’ve being meaning to join for a while now
i’ve got some programmes also from the thirties, a little bit later but nevertheless it’s good to see they’re worth a few bob
versus Congleton 05-02-38
versus Winsford 27-12-38
versus Tranmere 08-01-38
versus Stockport 30-01-37
versus Rhyl Ath. 09-01-37
versus Eastwood 02-09-07
minimum bid is pie chips & gravey, nah! on second thought i think i’ll keep them ;D
Hi Guinessman. I’d like to at least have a look at the programmes you’ve got from the 30’s. There’s always little snippets that can come in useful when I’m researching past Albion matches and especially players, that can be in a programme.
If you could bring them down to a match at all then maybe I could get a photocopy.
Hi CHAD,
I certainly will do, i’ll be down for the matlock game next tuesday so i’ll bring them along with me then.
I’ll see you around the ground during the match sometime.
