Queenie Price passed away in Leighton today. She was admitted after a fall and spent few weeks there.
Those of you who remember her,Queenie was a lifelong Wittoner.
RIP Queenie.x
Most of you knew my Aunty Queenie from her days at the tea hut but I knew her all my life, she was what she seemed, a lovely lady, I shall miss her. I saw her last on Christmas Eve at the Care home at Lostock and though as usual she didn’t know me I still knew her and I loved her to bits. She was the “Queen of Witton” to me and I think that is how she should be remembered. Can anyone suggest a fitting memorial to her, I gave a cup to the Junior section called “Queenie’s Cup” and I would like to do something along the same lines, any suggestions?

Just a word of thanks from the family to those Wittoners who came to pay their respects to a true Witton Legend, perhaps her picture should go up alongside those other legends, or maybe the Tea Bar should be called “Queenie’s Tea Bar” or just “Queenie’s”. Once again thank you so much for your presence.
