I don’t wish to put a dampener on this but Witton Reserves are playing at home at the same time.

Thanks Wheels, that’s true.

When we decided on the date the April reserve fixtures weren’t available. We knew we had two home games left and joked that whichever date we picked, it would end up clashing with a reserve game, and so it proved.

The quiz starts at 7.30, and while we’ve no real idea how long it will take if it ends before the game people can catch the end if they want.

So far we do have 7 teams confirmed I think, so there will be enough to make it worthwhile, but more are welcome.

Confirmed teams:

The Growlers
The Inbetweeners
The Barmaids
The Commerical Dept
The 1874s
The Oddfellows
The Groundstaff

The Thursday Night Crew?
The Witton Massives?

It’s not looking good for the massive lot ste i’m afraid. What with us working til 7 nobody want’s go in our smelly work gear

Cheers mate, sent you a pm

Just a quick reminder to bring this back to the top. Assuming no late pull outs we are into double figures on teams so hopefully this is going to be a good night and a bit of fun.
There’s still plenty of room to come down and if you don’t have a team, come down anyway and join one on the night, or we can put together a scratch team of stragglers.
Teams of two are absolutely fine and if you want to do it on your own, that’s fine too.
Sorry, also meant to say that the reserves are on tonight too, with a 7.45 kick off, and the bar is open, so plenty going on if you just want to come down and mill about

Thanks to everyone who came tonight, a good time was had by all and a particular thanks to the V*cs team who won the main prizxe and donated it straight back to Witton (Pritch’s best friends it seemed  ) as well as the Growlers and the Inbetweeners who also gave their prizes back to the club.

Between the returned prize money and the bar take I think we made a fair bit, and everyone seemed to enjoy iot

Thought it was a good night and a nice touch from 1874. If only we hadn’t been let down by 2 of our team we could have won. Definitely up for doing it again at some point.

Thanks to Ste & Phil for an enjoyable night.

I was hopeless…thank goodness for Derek Buckley !!!

We were well on course at the halfway point but self-destructed on the Witton & Vics rounds… Some post 1980s questions next time please!

Well done to Yox and Phil Chad, it was an enjoyable evening.

Enjoyed it too and for just £1 per person I think there would be many that would be up for doing it again. Disappointed there was only one Winsford question  although a correct answer did leave me with a 100% record on all things Winsford on the quiz.

Cheers guys. I think we’ll look to do it every 2 or 3 months during the season if there’s enough interest.

Also, apologies to the Macc fans if they are reading this for not including questions on their team. My fault, no excuses, I simply forgot.

I’ll look at doing one at the beginning of next season, or perhaps just before the season starts if preferred.

See you all at Grantham!
