A good match for neutrals plenty of goals and action but for me the sloping boggy pitch was a great leveller for Radcliffe and to be fair they played quite well and certainly worked very hard, on balance I thought we did enough to win it but for all our attacks and possession we could not put it in the net, new midfielder Peers looks useful and works hard and on a better pitch should be a good partner for Schoey. UTA
We played ok and I think the 2nd Radcliffe goal was more of a speculative effort rather than a planned shot on goal. Where we were lacking on Saturday was ruthlessness in front of goal. Our football management team have done a great job and turned us round. Don’t think we are quite there yet in terms of promotion material but its hopefully heading that way for next season. We really need a good foil for Rob Hopley up front so obviously the lad Mason deserves a fair go at it to see if he can develop into that role. I think “JD” Jon Dawson is developing well at left back I remember another “JD” John Davison who used to be fairly useful playing there!! Its always going to be difficult starting a new man in midfield so obviously again Peers needs a bit of time to fit in but did ok here. The main thing is we a heading in the right direction on the footballing side now with Carl and Mr Martindale who seem to have integrity, honesty and a “work ethic” which is beginning to show on the pitch. UTA. Hope for a win tonight at sunny Harrogate jealous because I’m in work and would have made a day of it today up there a favourite of mine is Harrogate as a town to visit!!
