Re:Are we saved from relegation?

We should be saved if any club should - the club has been run well after all the goings on after 2007-08.

Theres a lot of rumours flying around on the nonleaguezone unibond forum that witton will be staying up (much to most peoples annoyance!! were really not liked on that site at all hehe)
The latest comment on there suggests that with clubs being wound up both whitby and witton will almost definatly stay up!..not wishing to count any chickens yet but its promising news

fingers crossed!

When do we actually find out which league were playing in next season? i thought may 14th but thats today and nothing appears to be happening? maybe its because so many clubs seem to be going bust that the leagues have no idea yet whos still able to play next season:S had to laugh on the nonleaguezone forum an ossett fan has wrote that with so many clubs unsure of their futures witton might end up in the conference north next seasonB) …now that would be nice

I believe the FA were meeting tonight (14th May).

Should know more tomorrow.

I see Harry Dunn has quit Blyth Spartans to become Whitby’s manager so he must be confident they’re going to stay up!

seems like there is no decision until 26thmay. from the nlp website.

The FAs National League Systems Committee faced an almost impossible task when they met at Soho Square on Thursday to discuss this years ups, downs and sideways movements.

Its difficult enough under normal circumstances, but this year has been made even more arduous due to the number of clubs in financial trouble, administration, facing points deductions etc.

To make matters even worse, the Football League`s decisions on the likes of Stockport County and Darlington would have a domino affect on non-League football as they would immediately recall Chester City and Luton Town from relegation should their clubs close.

Effectively many decisions have been deferred until May 26th when hopefully the situation will be a little clearer.

However, one decision that has caused some controversy is the placing of Gloucester City – British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division play-off winners – in Blue Square North alongside Southern League champions Corby Town, whilst keeping Worcester City – geographically north of Gloucester – in Blue Square South.

It is understandable that Corby go north as their slightly southern neighbours Kettering Town were also in the north before gaining promotion, but Gloucester`s placement is down to the fact that Worcester cannot be moved because they have already been forced to do so once by the FA.

Gloucester therefore face horrendous journeys to Blyth Spartans and Workington with perhaps the only crumb of comfort being that Gateshead gained promotion!

There are going to be some very interesting ups, downs and sideways movements to come from the FA – with one or two leagues in big trouble, such as the Eagle Bitter United Counties League, where it is understood no less than SIX of its member clubs do not satisfy the standard required for Step 5, including new champions S & L Corby!

There is obviously a chance that Witton and V1cs could both be spared relegation then on that basis!

Bizarre that Luton would be safe after the points deduction last year.

What chance Stockport at Vics or Witton next season!

However we have to prepare as if we are in Unibond South, continue to cut our cloth accordingly and take any reprieve as a bonus.
