"UniBond League Division One club Cammell Laird have placed Ronnie Morgan, leading scorer for the last four years, on the transfer list.
Morgan, 26, has scored an amazing 180 goals in the four years since Lairds left the West Cheshire League and embarked in their climb up the non-League Pyramid.
Club spokesman Paul McLoughlin said: “Ronnie wants to try his hand at a higher level of football. Whilst we are disappointed, we would certainly not stand in the way of a player wishing to move on.
“He has done us proud over the last few seasons and we wish him the very best of luck for his future.”
I suppose its down to how much he wants and whether he would come. I think the latter is a given though as we are the best non league club bar none in the country!! So its down to how much to play for us Ronnie. I think he’d be a good signing for us frankly, but again Jim knows who, what he wants. We might have to change our style of play slightly give Grifs departure so a physical forward alongside Adam W would be more than useful.
I think its great that fans get on here and come up with these names as at least it ensures we all keep track of who or what is available and who knows Jim might find it useful too even if in this case he did not find Ronnie the signing he wants or needs. Lets keep them coming it does no harm!
