Trawling the web sites found out we have signed Chris Luby from Skem - ex vics hard working striker but dont know anymore than that any one confirm or add some info obviously been displaced by Shaun Tucks arrival - based on that doesnt sound great eg not good enough for Skem so we sign him ? but maybe beggars if that is what we are ? cant be choosers- not a squeak on here or our official website in fact next to no news on our site !
CJ the site is run by volunteers some of whom have days jobs and families. Sometimes these people which includes me simply does not have the time to get information out as soon as it happens.
I’d be happy to hand the job over to you as I like many try my absolute best with limited resources and time. We are not AFC Fylde or FC united who can employ somebody full time to run these things. We are a small club who have to put everything in the hands of those who give their own time.
Have you ever stopped to consider that forum chatter elsewhere may not be gospel and there may be reasons why the club haven’t announced a signing, maybe the registration isn’t sorted etc or maybe its simply down to the fact we don’t want to let our opposition know these things too soon. The club will announce signings when it is ready and everything is in place.
As it stands as of 4pm today there are NO new signings to update you with.
I, like all the other volunteers, don’t want recognition for the work that is done, but a little bit of support would be nice.

Fair point but again (and I’ve checked this just) there are no new registrations with the club as I type this. Therefore to go back to CJ’s point the club cannot simply announce something based on what is currently not correct.
Look at the Gareth Bale saga over the summer. Paper talk for months but Real said nothing. Not that I am comparing us to Real Madrid however there is a right and proper way about going about business.
Let forum gossip go on, but the club will not be drawn into official announcements until every t is crossed and every i is dotted.

Thanks RO I will give it some thought in helping - I too have done numerous jobs for Witton over 40 odd years so I know how it is : but communication is everything and the website needs to be on the ball we have had a bad spell and any good news would be most welcome it was on the evostik website as done 3-4 days ago which is why I asked the question-was not having a go at you personally .
OK it’s a genuine offer! But the point is there is nothing to say at the moment. I can categorically say the club has not registered any new players yet. Skem were a bit naughty to say something as it’s not their place to announce anything and anything on the Evo Stik site shouldn’t have been and if you can point to where that was I’ll take it up with them. As it stands the website is as up to date as it can be, with details of todays fixture switch announcement and Ben Harrison’s soccer schools. As soon as there is any transfer news it will end up on there, here and other social media outlets such as twitter and facebook.
I know how important communication is and I am working really hard behind the scenes to ensure that we are getting better at keeping people informed. Believe me I am in the board’s and managements ear all the time to get things out. We are trying new things all the time such as the podcast, post match interviews etc, and have some new projects that are currently under design to ensure that we do everything possible to keep the fans informed. I did a scoping exercise recently as to what cost can be put on this work that goes on (not just by me but by all those involved in the communication aspect of the club) and it was coming in at over £500 a month. Witton gets it for nowt!
However this is a voluntary role as are many others at the club and sometimes the role has to take a back seat for a few days. I apologise if the website is sometimes not updated enough or twitter goes quiet. However this is why we use people like Andy Simpson who do help us out a lot.
Forums are great though and probably the most visible way of getting a message out as it normally promotes a debate which tells me that the message is out there, no matter how it is received.

CJ, you might have felt it was valid to comment on the signing but to slate the lad before he has even joined us is a disgrace.
Dodger - how have I slated the lad -i decribed him as a hard working striker thats can only be good in my book ! my only worry is that Skem decide despite all his baggage that an unfit shaun tuck was a better option than chris luby ( thats my doubt ) I have no great knowledge of him apart from V***s fans reports! I hope that Chris is a big success here and will be behind him fully. UTA

Dodger the comment was more a reflection on our budget position than the player ! how can he get fullsome praise ? as I have said hope he proves a great signing cant really judge him until we have seen him 6 or so games in.

Alastair Brown has returned to the club having been with us back in 2006 following his release from Crewe Alexandra.
Has played every game for Trafford this season for whom he joined last season from Radcliffe, before then Ally was with Chorley.
