Witton have no midweek fixture, so are next in action on Saturday when we welcome Congleton Town to the Bedspace Trust Community Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture with a 3pm kick off.
It’s not pleasant to be the biggest defeat of round, but we’ve essentially had the toughest possible away draws two rounds running.
You go to full-time places like South Shields and have to keep it tight. Once we were two down inside eight minutes, it’s a slog.
As has been said, it has no bearing at all on the league. We’ve played some good football recently and our first midweek off is very welcome. As is a first Saturday home league game next week.
Frankly, to be five home games into a new season with all midweek games is ludicrous. A total nonsense. We’ve missed out on a cumulative 500 fans and 500 pints.

Thanks to Andrew Simpson for an interesting fact.
Witton’s heaviest defeat in the FA Cup since losing 9-0 to Macclesfield Town, also in the Second Qualifying Round on September 18th, 1965.
