They are the favourites for promotion and spending a fortune so a very credible performance from the ‘highlights’. With a little bit more luck in the final third it looks like we could easily have got a point.
Always struggled over the years with Refs up in the North East, Spennymoor in particular!!! Great dive/simulation from the Shields player on 2.23 that went unpunished, the keeper having been booked after the penalty incident, should have received a second yellow for running 40 yards to get involved in the melee, and then not sure what Billy did but the crowd weren’t baying for a red card so fair play it must have only been ‘seen’ by the liner.
Witton look strong and organised and weren’t from what people told me outclassed or over ran by SS, onwards and upwards with 3 points tomorrow night! UTA
The Ref was very biased towards SS, i was told by some SS fans they have him fairly regularly(cup games & friendlies) . I was on the opposite side from the sending off but was told in the bar afterwards the SS player put his head into Billy then went down basically conning the officials, in my opinion a draw would have been a fair result.
