Lets be honest Spalding were very poor but we took advantage, filled our boots,3pts in the bag and thanks very much. Once we scored the result was never in doubt and we played some delightful football and took our chances very well. Could have been double figures in the end. Maylett had a great game and was arguably the MoM but Rudd pushed him a close 2nd.
Well done Gary and the lads.
It’s true that Spalding were poor but we have played poor teams before and not capitalised, unlike yesterday!
We played some very good football and could have even scored more.
Rudd’s control before playing the ball wide for Maylett to cross for the first goal was top class.
Out of a very good team performance my MOM is Brad Maylett closely followed by Stuart Rudd.
Roll on Tuesday.
HE’S RUDD HE’S GOOD - HE’S VERY VERY GOOD

STUART RUDD
It was certainly our best performance of the season so far… :silly:
I thought Booth was outstanding too, especially in the second half.
A decent start, and takes some of the pressure off for the next couple of games too.
There is a new poll on the home page of www.wittonalbion.com asking you to vote on who was the man of the match at Spalding yesterday.
Just got back from London.
What a start.Far cry from last season’s Lincoln trip.
I hope some went in fancy dress!!
LONG LIVE WITTON WE LOVE YOU.XXX :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Must have got a lot of “SMOKE” into your memory bank down there VJ. The Lincoln fiasco was the start of 2007. Last season we actually got 7 out of 9 points in our 3 opening matches, then it plunged big style.
Maybe the Doc chose to selectively forget about last season, which in truth is probably a good idea!
Yes,London pollution pickled my brain Sire,apologies.:-[
Hi all you fellow wittoners, just thought you might like to read this and add your opinions http://forum.northwichguardian.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=28949#28949
No surprises there. Gave up on the Guardian website ages ago.
Try the web site today, I have written how, if you want local news read the FREE Chronicle. I wonder if the Guardian Editor will react?
WHS.
Noticed that Joe Clegg has suddenly picked up a whole load of Man of the Match nominations on the new club website. At this rate there will be more voting than actually watched the match

It seems strange, so many voting for a goalkeeper when you have won 6-1. However,
I voted for Cleggie because of his heroics in the first 35mins, when Spalding caught us a few times on the break, and with better finishing could have been 2-0 up.
Just before we scored, he got injured quite badly in a one-to-one situation, in which the Spalding player got booked. You could hear his cries of anquish all around the park. However, he carried on playing in quite a lot of pain, which was evident every time he kicked the ball. It was also evident from the massive bruise on his thigh. For these heroics, I made him my MOM.
