well done witton roll on tuesday
Fantastic result well done all yet again!! UTA
Another wonderful win despite playing with the selection I guess Matty and Prince had slight injuries, all we can do is keep winning us and Shaw lane are well a head of the pack its a pity the top 2 dont go up automatically UTA
A lot can still happen yet, win our two games in hand and it’s down to three points with Shaw Lane still to play.
Of course anything can happen but Shaw Lane are the favourites at this point, however I think we are the best team in the league UTA
At the start of the season, I think we all would’ve taken this and finished second to them I know I would. Results like today’s say a lot I think. Those three points come the end of the season could prove to be massive. UTA
could end up with 100 points and still not win the league, now that would be a pisser.
Always have enjoyed a happy ending Eli.

Just to upset Vics fans even more Rugby won, can you imagine the joy of us going up and them going down, what a dream finish. (Mind you I will settle for just us going up!!)
Aye it would, but as long as we finish second we would be at home for the play off semi and the final if we were to win. Massive advantage and we would have to make it fortress Wincham Park for both games.
I hate the play offs and for me they should be scrapped at all levels of football. Its ridiculous that a team gets an equal chance to go up after finishing 20 odd points behind another. Its just a final opportunity for the FA to make more money before the season ends.

Exactly! I certainly wasn’t complaining that day, everyone has to play by the same rules and we all know how it works. But in reality it was a bit unfair on Curzon and anyone else that finished above us in the league that season, in my opinion.
If they are going to stick with playoffs my idea would be to give a goal head start for, say, every 5 points difference in the league at the end of the season. This would still give an incentive for teams to qualify for the play offs but would also be fairer to the team that have clearly been better over the whole season. Not taking this on Dragons Den by the way but there must be a better and fairer way than the current system.
Anyway I think we will go up in the play offs even if we don’t win it. We have the team to do it, the best people behind the scenes and the best supporters in the league. UTA
Yes, but having finished second twice and not gone up I think it evened things up a bit. The play offs are unfair but the gates are invariably a lot higher than normal bringing in much needed cash for teams involved, “Swings and Roundabouts” I suppose.

Not around for a while, off on my “Jollies”!
I’m sure we’ll still here from you

Sod the play off cash - we have had excellent FA Cup and Trophy runs this season and also the income from V*cs so we haven’t done too bad. Getting promoted is paramount now to take our club to the next level. We do not want the lottery of the play offs or be in this league next season. In Carl we trust. UTA
Which was my point earlier, two games in hand on Shaw Lane and still to play them. Who’s to say we can’t catch them and pass them? The players certainly have the belief that we can and so should we.
Spot on. Well said mate. UTA
FOOTBALL: Spalding United boss calls for maximum effort to hit back .
Boss Chris Rawlinson wants Spalding United to bounce back in style before they take on promotion rivals Witton Albion again next month. The Cheshire club took three points from the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Saturday thanks to Bradley Bauress’ goal on 11 minutes. Spalding remain in third place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South. They are back home next weekend against Belper Town ahead of four successive away games – including the trip to Witton on April 6. Rawlinson admitted: “We were poor in the first half on Saturday. “I thought we were much better in the second half and probably the better side. We can take confidence that for long spells we were as good as them, if not better. “They won the first half and we won the second half so a 1-1 draw would have been a fair result. “They scored and hit the bar. We had two chances and didn’t take them – that’s the difference at this level. Witton looked sharper and having a few players unavailable has probably cost us if you want to win these games. I thought in particular we missed Nathan Whitehead in midfield. We couldn’t get going early on. We can take confidence that for long spells we were as good as them, if not better. But we were not good enough in the first half. There was a bit of arguing creeping in and we had to stamp that out. I was angry at half-time. It was frustrating because we had a bad 20-minute spell. We were not ourselves. We came out stronger in the second half and I thought we responded well. We’re not a million miles away but we have to bounce back with a win next time. It’s critical we manage that. After the defeat to Shaw Lane last month, we bounced back with six points. We’d like to do the same again before we play Witton away on a Thursday night.
got a funny feeling we,re going to win thes league
Another 3 points, another super performance, well done boys. Just try and keep the points coming in o Tuesday. UTA
