Witton now have two back to back home games starting with Atherton Collieries on Saturday with a 3pm kick off.

Well what a game that was, superb first half where it’s hard to play better a goal and assist for Duckworth and a brace for Hoyle capped of the magic, 5 minutes.

Into the second half and the aerial bombardment of our goalmouth commenced, huge long throws and hoof ball put us under huge pressure as Rangers fought back aided by the inept referee!

One goal then a second left us feeling Dejavu, with 30 minutes left 3-2 and then a bad penalty given by the ref threatened 3-3 but step up our keeper Sutton to make a superb save!

Then step up the defence to put a great shift and display in to keep them at bay and Sutton to make a few good saves exactly what didn’t happen at Newcastle and the Albion saw out the match for 3 vital points Brilliant.

One question is, why the turnaround in both games in the second 45? Maybe a fitness issue as our midfield faded again barring Brazel who was excellent, maybe we still need some additions to bolster in there to prevent this issue and to keep improving!

Playing 4 4 2 having Jones and Edwards in there after injuries will definitely help, but one more midfield general would be fantastic.

Well done lads. UTA
