Sat 3rd oct we travel to colwyn bay in the FA Trophy, im planning on making a day of it and having a few pre match beers feel free to join me ive planned the journey and theres a train from northwich to colwyn bay via chester departs from northwich at 10.12am and arrives at colwyn bay at 11.43am, trains back depart on the hour and the 7pm train arrives in northwich around 8.30pm
Hope to see a few of you and let the train take the strain
We’re going up friday, comming back sunday so will def be around for a few scoops. Need to find a pub near the ground to make our base/meeting place for the day.
Hopefully will be at match as it just down the road for me,will see some of you there. Will try to let you nearest pub to ground asap.
jono, nearest pubs to colwyn bay fc, i can find are the ship inn 348 abergele road,LL29 9LS.And the Sun inn 383 abergele road LL29 9PL
Ship inn and the sun inn sound good to me, not sure how far the ground is from the train station but will be there for lunchtime so plenty of time to find it.
If anyone else fancies joining me for a bit of a day out il be on the 10.12train from northwich to colwyn bay, adult return is £16.30 and plenty of trains back after the match
yorkshire red i will be getting bus from rhyl about 1.30pm.Ground is approx 2 mile from train station, you can get a taxi outside train station.the pubs are approx 1/4 mile from ground.I getting bus from Rhyl which is easier than train for me,as bus stops outside one of the pubs mentioned, not sure which one tho lol.
ok stevieG6860 thanks for the pub info, we shall head for these and pick the best one as our base should be a great day out and hopefully a great result
Hopefully will see you in one of them
The Red Lion is on the main road next door to the Sun and has a decent selection of real ales and will often have some Bay fans in before (but definately after) the game.
The ground is a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the pub.
For those arriving by train you can get a bus (ask a friendly local for “Old Colwyn”) or 5 minute taxi, for those driving come off at J22, turn first left at the roundabout towards Old Colwyn and the pub is 1/2 a mile or so on the left.
